8 Simple Winter Skincare Tips for Busy Moms
Skin keeps itself hydrated by attracting moisture from the environment. When humidity levels decrease, your skin gets dehydrated and feels dry, stretched, and flaky. Here are some simple winter care tips:
Wash your face with a hydrating cleanser – For clear healthy skin all winter, use a gently hydrating cleanser. Wash your face in the morning and at night with a hydrating cleanser. Don’t use a cleanser that produces too much foam, as their PH levels would be high.
Use the right moisturizer – Choose creams that have aloe vera, shea butter, coconut oil, papaya, and glycerin depending on your skin type. You can also use baby creams or creams with hyaluronic acid. Alternatively, you can add a few drops of facial oil to your regular moisturizer.
Sunscreen – Even in winter, you need sunscreen to stay safe from harmful UV rays. Even if you can’t see the sun, the sun is still out and the sun’s reflection on snow can be particularly damaging. Find a good SPF and apply it daily.
Green Tea – If you drink green tea, then don’t throw away the tea bags, use it to rub on your face and neck to keep it toned.
Stay hydrated – Drink lukewarm water, keep your body hydrated throughout winter. it’s always a good idea to stay on top of water consumption. So, try to sip warm water throughout the day every 30 minutes or so.
Exfoliate gently once a week – If you have dry or sensitive skin exfoliate once in two weeks. f dry, dead skin during winter can cause your skin to become flaky and patchy.
Keep your lips moisturized – Use hydrating and healing ingredients for dry lips like beeswax, shea butter, moringa oil. Don’t peel or bite off the dry skin on your lips! Avoid lip licking, when you lips get dry. Stay clear of mint, menthol and cinnamon flavored lip balms.
Prevent dryness in Hands – Moisturise your hand at least three to four times a day. Wear cotton-lined hand gloves while doing household chors. Always apply sunscreen on your hands when you step out. At night, apply a rich layer of hand cream under cotton gloves
Make skin care a priority this winter. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and also acts as a barrier between you and the outside world.
