On January 14, IKEA will host BYOF Day (BYOF stands for Bring Your Own Friend ), which will be a nationwide, in-store event full of special perks and activities designed to be shared with friends and family.
BYOF Day perks include the following:
- Free breakfast, two-for-one salads and crepes for lunch
- $1000.00 in gift card giveaways at each IKEA store
- Sampling from the Swedish Food Market along with recipe cards so friends can recreate their favorite dishes at home
- Free IKEA blue bags
- Free customized design advice with “Ask a Home Furnishings Expert”
- Complimentary massages provided by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
Visit Ikea Facebook page to RSVP and download Ikea Coupons. In addition for each friend invited, IKEA will donate $1 to Save the Children, up to $50,000.

I don’t think IKEA’s RSVP is working correctly. According to people’s comments, I’m not the only one having problems. IKEA should take care of their employees before making an offer to donate any money to any charities. They don’t treat their American employees with respect or give them the benefits they deserve. I hate to see such a huge company with so much money treat any hard workers so badly. When it’s corrected, I’ll spend my money at my local IKEA store- maybe some dishes or linens, not on any of your cheap furniture!
