When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately created a game plan. I read every book out there, including the must have- “What to Expect When you are Expecting”. I changed my diet, quit drinking caffeine and started my prenatal vitamins. I made charts and lists, visited the hospital maternity wards. I organized the nursery – down to color coded everything. I was just on the ball. I expected this to be a textbook pregnancy. Or, so I thought.
The reality was, what I was expecting, was not at all what happened! Isn’t that true with most of life? I expected to gain weight – most of my pregnancy I lost weight. I expected to work until delivery – instead I spent 3 months on bedrest. I expected to have a natural childbirth – I ended up with a C Section.
There is just sooo many new things to be aware of when you are expecting. From Vitamins, to Diet, to Childbirth classes, there is a ton of information. When I was expecting (12 years ago) I expected to have an easy pregnancy…not so! After 9 long months of morning sickness everyday and a few months on bed rest, we welcomed my baby boy into the world

I am currently expecting now (first child, first trimester!). I substitute teach and was expecting to easily pick my own hours around my symptoms (thinking nausea would be the only one), and even had a game plan to bring saltines and plastic bags with me to work. What I was not expecting was that my bladder would become the size of a grape – and peeing 3x an hour isn’t exactly conducive to school settings. I was also not expecting to have so much nausea or ‘other’ less than glamorous symptoms that seem to make it impossible to work at all right now! Thank God for hubby as I count down the days to the second trimester!!!

With my 1st pregancy, I didn’t know what to expect. As for the 2nd, I expected it to go smoothly just like the first…and it did. Thankfully!

as far as labor & delivery:
With my oldest son, I was scared out of my mind because I didn’t know what was going to happen or what to expect.

I also expected a normal pregnancy which progressed quite nicely until I had to be induced and then undergo an emergency C-section. Looking back now, I can hardly remember much of it which I guess means I’m ready for #2! :)

I have to admiit, that with my first pregnancy I had no expectations. The 9 months went by without any complications, until it came time for the delivery. Unfortunately, my doctors did not know that my son was 10lbs. They told me that he would probably around 7 lbs. I am 5’5″, 115lbs so it was NOT a fun 24 hours of labor, 4 hours of pushing and an emergency c-section!! Now, I am 7 months pregnant with my second child and I expected to have a smooth 9 months like before, and a nice scheduled delivery. Unfortunately, I threw up the entire first 5+ months, lost instead of gained weight, have horrible heartburn/reflux and have to get ultrasounds every 2 weeks for low amniotic fluid. Now I am still expecting that nice scheduled delivery…..one can only hope!!!!!!
Also, I like the above pages on FB!

What I expected was to be happy and healthy throughout my pragnancy. I am sure both of those happened at some points those long nine months. It was extremely hard for me to get around. the second time around was not any better with a kid in tow. I am glad there are two happy healthy kids and no more on the way.

I was expecting a long and difficult first pregnancy. My first was born on her due date (Veterans Day and my husband was a soldier at the time…very fitting) and I was in labor for 4 hours at home. I got to the hospital right after my water broke and she was born 10 mins later. I was also expecting to attempt natural childbirth…didn’t know I wouldn’t even have the option of meds because I was 9cm when I got to the hospital. For my second I was expecting the unexpected and it worked for me just fine. :)

With my first son I read the book, it was my bible…lol BUT no one ever really described what labor would be like. My labor was full of surprises. I also packed a cute summer outfit for the day I was coming home. What a joke I couldn’t even get the pants up past my thighs. Totally not what I was expecting! You live and you learn.

This looks like a GREAT movie!! LOL!

With my first pregnancy I was expecting everything to be perfect and for the most part, it was. I did everything by the book and had a nice quick delivery after being induced.
I am now expecting #2 in August and it has been COMPLETELY different from the first. I feel more tired and definetly bigger! I have also slacked off a little from reading the books and learning about each week. I am just ready for it to be over and meet my little girl!
I already “like” FTM on facebook…thanks for all your awesome deals :) And I just “liked” Centrum Specialist!
