Christie's Insta-Christmas Crafts: Christmas Cross necklaces. What you'll need: Ribbon, 5 green plastic beads, 1 red. (you can use any color scheme) Cut the ribbon to the preferred length plus a few extra inches.
Step 1: thread one green bead (you can tie a knot, not required).
Step 2 : thread 1 green bead over both sides of ribbon at the same time.
Step 3: thread a green bead over both sides at the same time and tie a knot .
Step 4 insert red bead in the center and tighten the ribbon to secure the bead in place and tie a knot.
I used old scrap ribbon and the beads are from another project from long ago. They are inexpensive at Walmart. My kids enjoyed helping make the necklaces and want to make some for friends. Good thing is that it's not noisy like a bell necklace. Bad thing - this is not meant for little tikes. The center bead is held in by faith, which means that it can falter, as in pop out - so be careful.
