This craft touched my heart because this simple message of "I love you" via sign language is how I wave to my children and husband everyday when I leave for work.
They of course wave back making the same sign.
The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs' Kim Yearout, one of our classroom assistants, made these cards with the actual handprint of each student to give to parents and classromm volunteers.
This is such a wonderful card to make with your children and to teach them how to always wave bye making this sign when a loved one is leaving.
How to make it:
1. Red construction paper
2. Pink or purple construction paper and trace the child's hand and cut out
3. White heart cut out
4. Glue hand to the red paper
5. Glue heart to the hand
6. Gently curl the middle two fingers down and glue to the heart
7. Present it to your Valentine.
8. Don't forget to date it
