This just in from the AAFES BX/PX Official Page:

To all our fans that have been wondering and asking about the acceptance of expired coupons in overseas locations: manufacturers have stopped allowing the Exchange to redeem coupons past their expiration date. The Exchange has been lenient on the coupon acceptance policy in regards to accepting expired coupons overseas. We are in the process of reviewing this policy taking into consideration current factors such as the availability of online coupons and current magazines and newspapers containing coupons available overseas. We'll keep you posted.

SO what does this mean?  For now according to commentors on the AAFES page that it will not apply to the commissaries which are different from exchanges.

I also received this tweet from

Overseas Commissaries DO still accept expired coupons! Today's news affects only the use of expireds at PX/BX Exchanges!

Coups For Troops: The Carolinas There is a question right now whether AAFE (PX, BX, or Exchange) will still be accepting expired coupons in the future. I haven't heard the final ruling, however, the commissaries overseas will continue to accept expired coupons. Please keep sending us your expired and unwanted coupons! Our soldiers and their families will need them more than ever.
