Since the nicer weather is here, I haven’t been doing much grocery shopping. We have been shopping at the local farmers market. We have had so many baseball game/baseball practice, we also have been eating less at home.
I stopped at my favorite scratch and dent/overstock store this week. For $15.97 I was able to get:
- (2) Boxes of Cascadian Farms Cereal
- (2) Boxes of Annies Bunnies
- (2) Trop50
- (3) Turkey Hill Gelatos
- (6) cans of Redpack Tomatoes
- (1) Yogi Granola Crisps
- (1) Back to Nature Crackers
- (1) Honey Dijon Mustard
- (1) Pretzels
- (1) Ronzoni Pasta
- (8) Poland Springs Sparkling Water
- (1) Monkey Oatmeal
- (1) Kashi Go Lean Oatmeal
- (1) Self Rising Flour
I know many of you don’t have scratch and dent stores nearby. I am fortunate to have this awesome resource. If you do have one nearby, stop in and check it out. You can save money without coupons.
How did you do this week? Did you do really well? Send us a picture of your deal so we can share with everyone!

There is a store on Street Rd. in Bensalem that have amazing deals like a whole case of brand name yogurt for $1!!!!
The real bargains are flying out of there very fast & the offerings are changing all the time…The name is Bensalem wholesale meat & They are located in the corner of Mechaniksville rd.,across from the Giant,…They just had a complete renovation so they are cleaner than they used 2 be…I visit there at least once a week!

I am very fortunate to have 2 wonderful stores like that here in Lebanon County. One is less than a mile from me and I find a lot of great products I can’t find elsewhere for anywhere near the price. I always find Back To Nature products there, usually for less than $1, and we haven’t tried one we didn’t like yet. The other store is about 5 miles away. I go there at least once a week, and most of my produce is from there. Apples year-round for $.49/lb! I didn’t coupon for the longest time, and still kept my grocery bill way down. Now that I’ve been following your blog, I find that couponing for me can be worth it. Thanks!

Aubree,
I also live in Lebanon County and I was at Hornings the other day with my husband. It was the first time my husband came with me. I told him exactly what you said: how fortunate to have these stores!
Since I start shopping at these stores a year ago, I can’t imagine buying vegetables and fruits at any other stores!
Aubree says
Rie,
Have you been to BBs (or is it B&Bs?)? That’s the other one I go to. We like the snacks from there, and they have TONS of lotions, shampoos, toothpaste, etc there. They just changed their hours too, they’re open from 8-8 during the week (and I think 9-3 Saturday). I don’t know what I’d do without these stores!

Miranda says
we have a store similar to a scratch and dent at our farmer’s market, I believe… they always have cheap diapers among other things. I wasn’t sure if I could trust the quality of products, even though they weren’t expired or anything… We’re going tomorrow so I may just have to check it out. Is there anything we should be on the lookout for quality wise or is it all pretty much “good”?
Shannon says
Miranda,
You have to pay close attention to dates. Sometimes stuff is expired. Alot of stuff is close dated – meaning you cannot stockpile. For example, the Trop 50 is dated June 3rd. Many times it is simply overstock from other stores. I get so many organic items there.

What scratch and dent store do you go to?
