Here is her question: My boyfriend has an older brother that lost his job and was losing his home (their childhood home). At the time he was living with his brother – paying him rent and helping with bills. I told my boyfriend that as much as I love him I cannot move my son and I in his home along with his brother.

We wanted to be able to rent out the basement for the next few years until we needed the whole house. . Our house had the perfect setup, and when we moved in, we were lucky enough to be able to rent out our suite almost right away. We are very lucky that we rent to a family member. Tenants are More Relaxed – In a Bad Way.

My sister-in-law and her husband had one that they used and rented out and indicated that it was doing well. Unfortunately, I was over optimistic about how many days per year the condo would rent. To top it off, she owned one of the units; and her brother owned another. Guess which ones always rented first? Guess what?

It’s a pretty expensive place and she loves it there, but all 4 kids are wondering how long it will be before Mom presents them with a financial crisis and call for financial help with the monthly rent. Siblings will question our ability to make things right for Mom and Dad and throw up roadblocks. be nosy about what they have.
