Publix Coupon Policy May 2011
The Publix Coupon Policy is changing efffective May 23, 2011 according to MyFoxTampa.
- Publix will accept manufacturers’ coupons (limit one per item), Publix coupons (originals only-no copies), valid Internet coupons and coupons from nearby competitors identified by each Publix store (competitor names are posted at each Publix store).
- We will accept coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only. We will not accept percent-off items or percent-off total order coupons.
- We will only accept coupons for identical merchandise we sell. Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon and we reserve the right to limit quantities.
- Manager approval is needed for individual coupons above $5. For a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate sale.
- We will accept a manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor coupon on the same item. Dollars-off total order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order.
- The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.
Changes to the New Publix Coupon Policy as of May 23rd, 2011.
- Walgreens and CVS coupons will no longer be allowed, unless they’re used for the pharmacy.
- Customers can use the $5 off $30 or $5 off $50 total purchase.
- They can use one Publix coupon and one competitor coupon on the same order, as long as the order adds up to the total of the coupons.
- Managers have the right to limit quantities sold to one person. They want to make sure there’s enough products for all customers.
- And who is considered a competitor will be determined by each individual store. It depends on how close other stores are to Publix. A list of competitors will be posted in each Publix.

I’m a loyal Publix shopper. I love their sales and double-love it when I can use coupons in combination with their sales. However, I’m not an “extreme” enough coupon-er to be moved by the changes listed above. I have noticed over the last few months that my local Publix quickly gets cleaned out of sale items, especially BOGOs. I also noticed last week that the store had a hand-written sign limiting shoppers to a qty. of 10 on any sale items. Not sure if that rule will stick, but it shows that they are attentive to the problem.
