US Postal Service issue 1 cent stamp increase Jan. 27

The USPS will raise the price of stamps by 1 cent Jan. 27, 2013 making it 46 cents per stamp.  You'll remember we had a stamp increase in January 2012. Forever Stamps are always valid for first class mail. Priority mail increases will occur Jan. 27 as well.

While all stamps are now marked with the FOREVER wording, you would much rather pay a cheaper rate now than on Monday.

Prices:

  • Letters first class- 1-cent increase to 46 cents
  • Letters additional ounces - remains the same at 20 cents
  • International letters to all destinations (1oz.) - $1.10
  • Postcards - 1-cent increase to 33 cents
