This is a question I get asked alot and this week was no different especially after the Winn Dixie deal I

While I haven't made it by there to pick up the deal or to check out the square footage yet, I will tell you the principles I'll apply once I do get a chance.

When trying to figure out if the price of toilet paper is actually deal insert numbers into the formula below:

__________ Price of the package (this will be your actual out of pocket - after rewards cards, coupons etc.)

DIVIDED BY

__________ Total square footage

EQUALS

___________ Price per foot or square foot

YOUR GOAL WOULD BE AROUND 1 CENT PER SQUARE FOOT IS A GOOD PRICE FOR 1 PLY BUT BE PREPARED TO PAY UP TO 7 CENTS.

WHAT'S YOUR PRICE POINT ON TOILET PAPER?

Where to find the square footage number -- see the arrows below:

SECOND METHOD --

Price per roll -- much easier price of the package divided by the number of rolls in the package.

I want the roll of paper to be at least 10 cents or cheaper.

Compare a 4 pack you can get at the Dollar Tree -- that's 25 cents a roll or Aldi for 89 cents that's 22 cents a roll -- so you definitely want to beat that.
