Does anyone know what happens if you end up with more in gas rebate points then gas costs? If you redeem the gas points, do any extra just roll, or do you lose them?
Kathy says
I called customer service and asked the same thing. They told me the extra roll to use next time.
Laura says
Now I have a question. I think I know the answer but I want clarification. The limit 10 offers. That means 10 total this week, not the cereal deal x10 then the pringles deal x10 and so on and so on. Since these are shelf stable I could have 60 cereal and 60 pringles stored but I guess that would be too good to be true :0
Kathy says
Yes, 10 total times. Not 10 times per item.

I UNDERSTAND THE GAS POINTS BUT IM CONFUSED ON THE MONEY MAKER PART. DOES IT MEAN I CAN USE THAT EXTRA MONEY TOWARDS THE REST OF MY PURCHASE?? THANK YOU SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. IM NEW TO ALL THIS AND REALLY WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SAVE MONEY FOR MY FAMILY.
Laura says
John, I do not think anyone answered your question. The term moneymaker can be confusing. The easiest way to explain it is with the deal this week. If you purchase 6 Kellogs cereal cups for $6.00 and if you have the ability to purchase 30 gallons of gas you can get $12 off per tank. So for your $6 purchase you are getting $12 of gas. If you do this deal 9 times you can get 30 gallons of gas and 54 cereal containers for $54. Pretty good deal even if you donate the cereal to a homeless shelter (which you can then count as a donation on your taxes. )

Hi John,
Laura is correct about the extra gas points. Depending on which Giant you are shopping at (whether it be Giant PA, Giant MD or Martin’s) they tend to do the exp of the gas points differently. With Giant PA they go in quarters..so this time the gas points you earn will not expire until 8/24. So if you would earn over the amount of what gas costs per gallon the rest of the points will roll over and then you can continue building your points back up. Just a word of advice if you earn a significant amount of gas points do not wait until the last day of the cycle to fill up because lines are long and you could be waiting for awhile. Hope that helps.

Strange question, but does anyone know if these gas deals start at midnight Saturday night? Or is there a time you must wait until on Sunday to get the deals?
Tina says
My store states that the deals are not effective until 6AM Sunday morning and mine is a 24 hr store. Trust me, I would love to do some midnight shopping deals at 12AM! :-)
lizlang says

Jean says
Hello,
Can you please clarify how you are computing the value of the gas per amount of gallon save? How are you getting $12.00 worth gas for getting for the gas saving deal? Thanks. I am just confused. Lol! Thanks!
For the Mommas says
Hi Jean,
The $12.00 is your total amount of savings if you earn $.40 per gallon. If you maximize your savings, either with a 30 gallon tank or with gas cans, your savings are $12.00.
$.40 x 30 = $12.00
Hope that helps,
Natalie
Jean says
Thank you, Natalie! I try to take advantage of Giant’s gas points deal every week but not for me to use but for my husband. He drives a GMC truck and it is a gas guzzler. The maximum amount I compute the $.40 cents off savings is just for 10 gallons and have always wondered where the $12 is coming from. Now I know! Thank you for all you do! I appreciate all the help in finding best deals and get the most savings using coupons! :)
Bonnie says
For a small amount you can invest in gas cans to get the rest of the 30 gallons. They pay for themselves in the first trip. Pour that gas at home into another vehicle, mowerers etc, or just wait till the tank is empty. They cost about $15 each but gas at $3.5 for a five gallon container is $17.50 so you make out great and can use them for a long time!!!
Holly says
I’m guessing empty shelves on the “free” items. :(
Sharon says
Holly, I have frequently called customer service a wk ahead, if I know what the gas deals are, like this time, and order in what I want. That way I get what I want and am not a “shelf-clearer”! I know one time I placed an order for yogurt and the guy asked what flavors I wanted! He even went and found the paper for the following wk. (which we were discussing), to be sure there wouldn’t be a mistake on the order. He said he’d order it to come on the first day of the sale!!
Holly says
I guess I could do that. I normally don’t go bonkers on any of them. I usually just do the deal once or twice. Doesn’t seem worth the trouble.
Lydia says
You can also get rain checks….and they’ll add the gas points to them.
FortheMommas says
Good tip Lydia!
Holly says
They usually only give gas points though for up to 10 items? My one local Giant will not give gas points with a rain check.
Ruth says
At my local Giant, they have been able to keep the cereal in stock. There was also 4 bins filled with them near the milk. Your best bet is to go early in the morning. Giant restocks at night.
Andrea says
Make sure you can navigate spanish for that Progresso coupon lol
Ruth says
After the disappointing gas deal for this week, I’m glad that next week it will be a go one. If they only offered an additional points when you buy 50.00, that would be sweet. These gas points are a life saver for me and my husband.

Thanks for matching up the coupons! I love giant gas deals!
