i think in the past my Pepperidge Farm coupon did not double even though it did not say it doesn’t. Has anyone else had the same issue?
Shanta says
No, it isn’t doubling and the post has been updated. Still a great deal!

Thanks!

Giant’s policy doesn’t say that they double all internet coupons. The policy states
Only one coupon for the same item will be doubled, all other will be redeemed at face value. (Example: If a customer purchased five (5) boxes of Cheerios and presented five (5) manufacturer’s coupons for .50¢ each, the first coupon would be doubled to $1.00. The other four coupons will be redeemed for .50¢.)
Up to an additional 15 identical manufacturer’s coupons can be redeemed at face value for a total of 16 identical manufacturer’s coupons.
Internet coupons qualify to be doubled, unless otherwise stated on the coupon.
The policy plainly says that one coupon for the same item will be doubled and the rest redeemed at face value. No where does it say that the exception to that is if the coupons in question are internet coupons. Yes, we frequently benefit from the fact that Giant’s register system treats internet coupons as all having unique barcodes which then allows more than one coupon to double, but saying that it is in the policy to do so isn’t correct.
Shanta says
It’s say it RIGHT there and I quote ‘Internet coupons are subject to be doubled unless stated on the coupon’

So you are saying that because Giant states that internet coupons qualify to be doubled that all printables double? I don’t interpret it that way at all. I believe the statement indicates that internet coupons qualfiy or are eligible to be doubled since the policy also outlines which types of coupons do not qualify (are eligible to be doubled). They are still manufacturer’s coupons and therefore In my opinion still subject to the limitations of the the first statement that only one like coupon doubles.
I really believe that its a loophole (and one that Giant has seemingly turned its head and is looking the other direction on) that multiple printables double in the same transaction. I don’t see why they would decide that we will only double 1 like paper coupon, but double up to 16 internet coupons per transaction.. I realize this is just my interpretation, but I don’t see how you throw out the other clauses about redeeming double coupons.

Well MY Giant store doubles ALL internet printable coupons
Debbie says
The internet coupons double because of a system glitch that reads each bar code as a different coupon. If Giant ever fixes that glitch or cares to fix it, we will all be sad!

I didn’t read this ahead of time so when they did not double today I showed the guy at self checkout and he manually added the difference. He read the entire 1st coupon looking for a do not double.
