Welcome to our four part series on how to use Amazon Subscribe and Save. There is a lot of information to take in, so I will be splitting this into four posts. FTM has been featuring many cheap , sometimes even FREE, Subscribe and Save items. I really do believe it is worth looking into if you shop online. It has saved me a lot of money already. We are frequently posting these deals here.
If you have been following along, you have read post #1 How To Save With Subscribe and Save and post #2 How to Use Coupons with Subscribe and Save. This post will break down how to save up to 20% on Amazon Subscribe and Save.
So, we already know that you will receive 5% off ANY subscribe and save order. We already know that you can stack your 5% savings with a coupon. In addition, Amazon offers an incentive for placing more subscribe and save items.
Currently, when you order 5 subscribe and save for any one delivery, you will receive 15% off your entire delivery. This can result in big savings! (You can save up to 20%, but that will be our next post)
So for example, if you have 2 items, you will see that you need to add 3 more to get to 15%. On this particular order, you would be saving $1.48. If you had 3 more items, you could save $4.42 total.
Lets look at these orders a bit closer:
So in this case, this account is currently saving 5% on these two orders. Keep in mind the account shows the price before any coupons. When we click through to the order we see the 5% savings. This particular order there was a coupon applied for $3.00 plus the 5% savings on the purchase price.
So if you are ordering many items on Amazon, then it is a no brainer to look at this and put 5 items on your order. However, you might be thinking that it is great, but I don’t need anything else from Amazon, so it wouldn’t be worth spending the extra money to save $2.94. This is where Amazon gets interesting.
Amazon has a wide variety of products. So start thinking about something you buy regularly at the store, but can’t save Perhaps it is a speciality item or something that never has a sale or coupon. This gives you the chance to save 15% on this item. Let’s take a look at the same cart:
You will see that the prices on the two items we started with have dropped. We have added three items – one item was very cheap after coupon, another is an organic item that we rarely see deals on and the other was a good priced item that would be the same type of deal as the drug store. So while we may not have needed the clinical strength deodorant, it cost $1.05 to add to the cart. You can see the difference of the price of the Dishwashing tabs alone covers the cost of the clinical deodorant (after coupon- keep in mind coupons do not show). We also added 400 Ct. Generic Bendaryl to the cart for $2.22. The last thing we added was organic tea. This item we can’t save on normally, we buy it anyway, so it is a bonus!
So how can you make the most of this:
- Buy the items you need first.
- Buy items that are very cheap that you would otherwise get at the drug store.
- Once you have 3 items, considering buy 1-2 items you can’t save on in stores and may be higher value.
- Watch for the cheapie/freebies posted on FTM.
In our last post, we will be talking about how you can save 20% on Amazon Sub and Save. Happy Shopping! Confused? Leave any questions in the comments!
