Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo Deals to Take Your Fiesta to the Next Level

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over the French in the 1862 Battle of Puebla, but many Americans embrace it as an opportunity to appreciate Mexican culture. And since food is such an important part of any culture, eating Mexican food to celebrate the holiday has become overwhelmingly popular.

This Cinco de Mayo looks a little different than most. While restaurants may be open in some parts of the country, other areas have restrictions that may limit availability. Some restaurants are still offering deals that could help you recognize the holiday with a delicious meal, but these offers may vary based on local regulations. If you’re unsure of whether your local restaurant will participate, you may want to call ahead to find out.

If you’re ready to celebrate, here are some of the top Cinco de Mayo deals this year!

California Pizza Kitchen

California Pizza Kitchen is selling a Taco Kit and pitcher of margaritas for customers to enjoy at home. You can select a CPK Taco Kit with steak, mahi/ono, or chicken. Kits also come with tortillas, tomatoes, black beans, onion, cheese, and other fixings.

Chili’s

If enjoying a margarita is your favorite part of Cinco de Mayo, Chili’s can help satisfy your cravings with to-go alcohol. This is available at participating locations for customers 21 and over. Food purchase is required.

Chipotle

Want some Queso Blanco with your favorite entrée from Chipotle? Use the code QUESO55 when buying through the website or app to get your Queso Blanco for free when you add it to your entrée. Chipotle has also extended its free delivery offer! Through May 10, participating locations will deliver for free with a $10 minimum purchase.

Jose Cuervo

Your local, independent Mexican restaurants could probably use some extra business right now, and Jose Cuervo is giving you extra incentive. The famous tequila company is hosting a sweepstake to repay random winners for their meals purchased from local, independent Mexican restaurants. Just tweet a picture of your receipt with #CincoToGo #CuervoContest and tag @JoseCuervo to enter.

Moe’s Southwest Grill

Moe’s Southwest Grill is hosting an online Cinco de Moe’s celebration on Instagram Live from 6 PM to 7 PM EDT. The free event is set to feature comedian Aaron Chewning and will include giveaways, like t-shirts, taco kits, and burritos.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell has introduced its At Home Taco Bar in time for Cinco de Mayo. It comes with flour tortillas, hard taco shells, chips, ground beef, nacho cheese, shredded lettuce, and packets of hot sauce to let you put together your own tacos at home. The set is designed to serve six people and costs $25. Pricing and participation may vary.

Many local or regional Mexican restaurants may also be running specials to celebrate the holiday, so we strongly encourage you to check them out on social media to see what they have available. So many small establishments are struggling, and a little more business on Cinco de Mayo might be the extra boost they need to keep them going.
