10 Essential Home Cleaning Items
My niece is moving into her own home, and as someone who likes living in a clean house, but hates cleaning jobs I’m not sure how clean the house will be, but you never know :)
Well, I was asked to make a list of cleaning items to buy, here is a list of must-have cleaning items you will need if you are moving into a new home:
Vacuum cleaner – A handheld dustbuster is great for vacuuming problem areas like baseboards, couches, and errant pet fur anywhere it ends up. Additionally, a long crevice tool would make cleaning around corners and reaching other tight spaces easier.
Microfiber cloths – Use it to clean all surfaces, including stainless steel and glass. Buy a few, and wash them regularly with your towels.
Bucket – Choose a sturdy, lightweight bucket with measuring lines to make cleaning jobs easier. You can also use it as a caddy for storing your cleaning supplies and carrying them from room to room.
Broom and dustpan – Broom and dustpan with long handles gives reach and flexibility to clean. Full sized broom perfects for sweeping large areas.
Flat mop – Flat Mop helps to decontaminates your house and are great for cleaning. They are easy to use and require little effort to set up. You can also make your own flat mop.
Rubber gloves – A good set of thick rubber gloves is necessary for protecting your hands from cleaning chemicals and whatever grime you’re coming up against. They are relatively cheap so keep a couple of pairs. Use one in the kitchen to protect your hands from hot water when you’re washing dishes.
Squeegee – Keep a squeegee in your shower, after bath just run your squeegee from top to bottom or left to right. Some of them attachments so that you can attach them to the wall and use them as needed.
Toilet brush and holder – A bristled toilet brush is easy to use and will help you get your toilet bowl sparkling clean with very minimal effort. The holder should provide proper ventilation for quick drying and odor control. Replace your toilet brush a couple of times a year or as needed.
Old Toothbrush – When cleaning grout tiles and sink rims, most experts recommend using an old toothbrush for a thorough and more focused clean.
Scrub Brush – Use a scrub brush to scrub off tough stains from any type of surface or fixture. The bristles of the brush are hard enough to scrub out the toughest dirt and use it to clean car seats, carpets and mats.
Always invest in cleaning materials that are effective and functional. If any cleaning item does not fit into your budget buy a less expensive option that can be upgraded later. Home is where you spend time and have fun with your family, so do try to keep it clean and safe for the family.
