 This is the first year Birmingham Home & Garden Show will have a fall version and guess who is coming?  Ty Pennington. 

That's right the former Extreme Home Makeover host will be speaking at the event. 
The show is scheduled for Sept. 20 through Sept. 22 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex. 
Here are the top 10 things to check out at the show including Ty:
1.       Ty Pennington Under the Roof.  Home improvement superstar Ty Pennington will be on stage Saturday, September 21 at 2 p.m. Ty will share behind-the-scenes stories from the popular series Extreme Home Makeover, provide expert tips and answer fan questions.
2.       Get Organized with Mark Brunetz.  Clean House's Mark Brunetz appears daily on the Fresh Ideas Homes Stage to inspire guests to get organized, once and for all. Mark will be talking with guests about favorite episodes of Clean House, answering design questions and presenting a show and tell of his interior design work to spark ideas and help resolve home improvement needs.  Mark appears on Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at noon and 4 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 p.m.

3.       On Your Mark, Get Set, Save! Christie Dedman, aka Birmingham Bargain Mom, appears daily to share her insider tips for saving money on everything from groceries to holiday gift shopping.  She appears on Friday at noon; Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at noon.

4.       Four-Legged Football Fan Fashion Show.  With college football in full swing, the furriest fans will be showing team pride in the most adorable fashion show in town.  The fashionable mutts will walk the runway on Saturday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m.
5.       Culinary Showdown.  Calling all foodies! Jefferson State Culinary Institute headlines a Cooking Stage filled with presentations and demos from local chefs as well as a Culinary Showdown  to crown the student chef champion of the show.
6.       Battle of the Bulbs. The petals will be flying in this fierce but friendly competition "Battle of the Bulbs". The Birmingham Home Show is bringing together  the area's top designers who will create a fall floral fantasy  right in the middle of the show.
7.       Give a Jacket, Get a Ticket. Winter is coming, and show guests can help their Magic City neighbors who need but can't afford a warm winter jacket by taking new or gently used coats to Lovelady Thrift Store . Everyone who donates a men's, women's or children's coat or jacket will get a COMPLIMENTARY Birmingham Home Show ticket in return.
