So if you have been following my posts about my sister Natalie – she is a newbie learning to coupon. She isn’t interested in becoming a “true stockpiler” and only has a little bit of time to clip coupons each week. She is taking baby steps and sharing them with you. If you want to start small, be sure to check in for Nat’s Newbie Shopping Trips.
This is week 3 of Natalie’s CVS trips. She started with a $5.00 ECB that she earned on her transactions here. She also had her free pantene coupon she requested here. She opted to do 2 transactions to keep her out of pocket (OOP) to a minimum.
Transaction #1
Revlon Colorstay $6.99
She paid with her $5.00 ECB (so $1.99 out of pocket for her, but would be $6.99 if you had no ECB to start with)
$1.99 + tax paid to cashier after ECB
Got back a $5.00 ECB
Transaction #2
Pantene
Bengay $5.49
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste $2.99
used Free Pantene Coupon
used $3.00/1 printable Bengay Coupon
Total Due: $5.48
Used $5.00 ECB from first transaction
Paid $.48 + tax to the cashier after ECB
Got back $4.00 in ECBs
Natalie ended up paying $2.47 OOP and has a $4.00 ECB left over. She also did the Skittles deal – she did call me to consult me before trying this one! She did a great job figuring the deal out on the fly. How did you do this week at CVS?

Natalie forgot to use the $1 off any Revlon cosmetic from the 7-17 insert. Would’ve made her OOP cost just .99 on the 1st transaction. It’s ok Natalie-you’ll get better with practice. Happy Couponing!
