We have been in our home for over 20 years and I’ve refinanced for better rates at least five times, mostly for free. I created this spreadsheet many years ago as a way to communicate our finances to my husband and I continue to update it and review it with him monthly. There must be open communication.

Going from a consistent paycheck to one that varied month to month was an adjustment and required a lot of communication between me and my husband. To keep the communication flowing, I created my very first Balance Sheet to give my husband a snapshot of our household and business finances. It was tricky at first.
