10 Tips To Get Ready for Spring Consignment Sale Season

trussville umc consignment.jpg

Who's ready for the consignment sale season?  I am.  I'm ready to unload some of the spring and summer items from 3 kids that are overtaking my storage space.

(Keep in mind -- I always do a round-up of sales so don't worry I'll hook you up with spots to sell and buy)

So what can you do to get ready right now?

1.  Sorting -- You're putting up the holiday items so make sure you go through the spring and summer clothing while you're in clean out mode.

2.  Group by ages

3.  Stock pile metal/wire coat hangers.   If you can get them free even better.  Less out of pocket expenses for selling your items the more profit you'll make.  It's just like overhead.

4.  Rubber bands.  You need them to group all of the items on coat hangers by size and gender.

5.  Safety pins -- Stock pile those.  You'll need at least two per item on the hanger.

6.  Wash the clothing you plan to sell to freshen it up.

7.  Get the lint brush out and run it over the items too.

8.  Shoes -- clean them.  Sort them.  Bag them.

9.  Tags -- if your sale uses index card - get a pack and cut them in half for each item.  Hold off on this if the sale uses their own labeling system or printable tags.

10.  Make a list of prices for each item or use a temporary label with the price so you'll be less frazzled when it comes to the tagging part.

I price to sell.  The less I have to pick up the better.

NOTE -- You know I'm sentimental.  Sometimes I take a picture of some of the outfits to make sure I remember them.
