Christmas 911 – No More Wrapping Paper
It’s Christmas Eve and you’re wrapping up the last of the gifts. Snow is falling outside the window and everything is peaceful. As the Christmas music plays in the background, you start to wrap your next gift. As you pull the wrapping paper around the gift, you begin to panic. The wrapping paper won’t go all the way around the package. It doesn’t matter how many different ways you turn the package or the wrapping paper. Quickly, you jump up and rush off to search for more wrapping paper. It doesn’t do any good though. You’re out of wrapping paper. You check your watch and slump onto the couch in defeat. It’s midnight. There’s no where to get wrapping paper at midnight on Christmas Eve. What are you going to do? Don’t panic. There’s other ways to wrap gifts when you’ve run out of wrapping paper.
Magazines and Comics
Ever notice how festive magazines get this time of the year? All those beautiful full-page photos of Christmas decorations can really come in handy. The next time you run out of wrapping paper, grab one of the magazines off the coffee table. This is a fantastic solution for small gifts. If you’re wrapping a Christmas gift for child, why not grab the comics from the Sunday paper? They’re colorful and at this time of the year they feature Christmas inspired strips.
Recycled Boxes and Bags
Didn’t you recently open some gifts from friends? Weren’t a few of those Christmas gifts placed in decorative boxes and bags? Then why are you so worried? Rip off the tags and put on new ones. No one will ever know, unless you give the package to the person who gave it to you. Best of all, you’re doing a good thing by recycling what would otherwise be thrown in the trash.
Christmas Candy Boxes
This may sound odd, but many Christmas candy boxes are perfect when you run out of wrapping paper. Usually they are so highly decorated they look like expensive jewelry boxes. Truth be told, they are really too pretty to be thrown away. So, why not use them in place of wrapping paper?
Fabric
If you’re a crafter, you probably have excess fabric lying around from Christmas projects. This can make your packages look so festive. The only thing you need to remember is it will take stronger tape to hold the fabric in place. Also, don’t move the packages around too much after they’ve been put under the tree.
