UPDATE: Check here for an update..
Great news! The gift card catalina deal will continue at Giant the week of 6/17/12.
I know some of you struggled with how this was a moneymaker, so I wanted to break it down for you.
- Go into Giant with $50.00 in your pocket, handbag or wallet.
- Pick up a $50.00 Gift Card that is included.
- Go to the register and pay $50.00 for the Gift Card.
- Get $10.00 Catalina to use on a future purchase.
- Take your $50.00 Gift Card and $10.00 Catalina home.
- So now instead of $50.00, you have $60.00 to spend.
* Note if you are purchasing a gift card that requires an activation fee, you will have less profit, but still a profit. You can purchase a Visa card and use it like cash.
Offer: Purchase $50.00 of participating gift cards and get $10.00 oyno
Please note, there may be a small fee to activate your giftcard.
When you buy the gift card, you will pay $50 (the value of the cards) and get a $10.00 coupon for your next order. You essentially are making $10 on every transaction (if there is no activation fee).

There is a new printed and laminated sign that should be posted near the giftcards stating that it is one catalina per account / family per day.
If your store lets you do it then they are operating under the previous weeks allowance and not under the posted policy for this week.

Depends on the Giant or the cashier. I was buying 2 cards and she said the limit was 1. I had to go to another register to buy the second and I was not allowed to use the cat towards the second card! Bummer….

Does anyone know what gift cards are included? Is it only the ones pictured?

You know what I did.. I bought a 50 visa gift (w/4.95 fee) and then got 10 cat. Then took that 50 gift card and bought something like a lowes gift card and got another 10 cat. so for 54.95 I got a 50 lowes gift card and two 10 cat. not a bad deal

Giant on Linglestown Rd. in Harrisburg would only allow me one catalina, stating they had made an ad correction limiting one per household.

yay! hubby just got home and handed me 4 $10 OYNO coupons :) Planning my 4 mini transactions now! WOOHOO wild Friday night here at my household…haha
Cynthia says
You have to buy each set of $50 gift cards in a new transaction, since it specifes one per transaction. You cannot use the $10 coup to buy more giftcards.

Mandie Boecker Bartell – Giant cards are not included. Rolling is YMMV.

Hi! Just a heads up. You will not get a $10OYNO if you buy a Giant gift card. My store gave it to me but said that Giant Gift Cards are excluded bc they can be used for fuel.

Is there a limit on doing this? I got a gift card earlier this week. Didn’t know if you could roll the $10 off next purchase into buying another git card the same week. Also, are the giant gift cards included?
