Frugal Christmas: Repurpose tomato cages into Christmas trees ($3.47 each)

Did you plant a tomato garden this summer?  If so then I hope you saved the cages because you can flip them over and create a fun Christmas tree for the yard, porch or inside.

The cages are usually 54 inches.

Walmart may have some in stock, but the 4 Walmarts I've visited recently didn't have a single cage.

Kmart, Home Depot and Lowes keeps them in stock year round -- prices range from $3.47 to $3.69 for the non-painted versions.

There are painted or coated versions for $2 more, but really you won't need the color.

Simply wrap lights around the cone and plug in.

Tips --

Outdoor use -- use some stakes to stabilize the tree.

When you buy the cage -- make sure it's not leaning or bent or missing a frame.
