What I Spent This week was definitely one of adjustment! Anyway, this week has made it clear to me that I need to change up how I do things; I need to switch up how I use weekend time, how I plan meals, and when I do household stuff. Because I was definitely doing some fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants things this week.

However, $1 off per gallon definitely makes the price better at GIANT. Focus on what’s on sale when you write your menu plan each week. I definitely took advantage of the Peets coffee offer. I refer to the page as I’m writing my weekly menu plan. Examples of recent sales flyer coupons.

It definitely saved me from takeout. Tuesday I made a Dinnerly meal, which was Mediterranean beef pita pizzas: Zoe and I both liked these (sorta like an easy gyro), so I’ll probably put this meal idea into our rotation even if I don’t get it straight from Dinnerly. I also made these roasted carrots and I cut up some fruit.

This is better than endless nights of eating out, but definitely not as frugal as an organized trip to Aldi. What I Spent So I went to pull together my grocery spending for the week and I realized that it’s all quick trips to Safeway. I spent $63 at Safeway, spread out between an embarrassing number of trips.

Maintaining order in the kitchen definitely makes meal planning easier and I feel more in control when everything is organized. When life gets hectic, sometimes our best meal planning intentions just don’t work out and we need to be prepared.
