Walgreens Buys Rite Aid Pharmacy!
An announcement was made today that Walgreens has agreed to buy Rite Aid. These two companies coming together will have us wondering as consumers–Will the prescriptions offers change? Will the store policy change? We want to keep you all up dated so of course, we here at FTM will definitely make sure to continue to monitor this merger and we’ll bring you any changes as they are announced!
Overall, we want to know how or will this affect shopping at the new Walgreens stores in the future?
Check out the details of this huge merger here.

Shucks – I actually like Rite Aid better – I think their sale prices are cheaper

It would be nice if Plenti went away and Rite Aid adopted Walgreens’ rewards system.

I completely disagree. Plenti points are much easier to use. You can use manufacturer coupons with them without worrying about how many coupons and products you have, unlike register rewards where you have the match the number of manufacturer coupons & register rewards to the number of items.
Plus, plenti points last MUCH longer (2 years!!!) and you can use as many as you want (odd amounts, too), rather than being restricted to the amount on the register reward and the two week period.
I really really hope Rite Aid doesn’t go to register rewards.

I completely agree! I rarely shop at Walgreen’s because their system is so ridiculous. I love Rite Aid and hope this merger does not go through.

THATS TERRIBLE! Walgreens coupon policy is really bad. They don’t adjust coupons to the price of the item and you cannot roll over you rewards when using rewards. Yes Barb! We don’t have to reach the set amount on the rewards with Plenti like the Walgreens does with registry rewards. Walgreens is a terrible place to coupon. You cannot earn points when using points there either. I’m going to throw up.
