Kelly W says
Looks like this week will pull me back into Rite Aid for the first time in three months. – Oh that is a fib! I was there this week looking for the Malt o meal cereal but it was all gone. So technically I didn’t buy anything. :)
June says
I did the Kellogs deal this week, and got the weekly advertised 5.00 back wyb 15 of kellogs cereal, but I also got (4) 1.00 ups from purchase of food snacks. Is this the monthly deal you were referring to?? If I got 4, 1 for each box, this could me a 4.00 MM, right???? Sounds way too good to be true, especially since I have 4 of these coupons left lol!!!!
Where do you find these monthly up deals, just on the shelves in the store, or are they advertised somewhere?? Thanks!!
Shannon says
@June,
Its not coming up as $4.00 UPR, California’s already started.
June says
Regarding the Kelloggs and the 1.00 up, I did the kellogs special k deal for this week and bought 4 boxes of special k. When I did that, I got the 5 up back for buying 15.00 of kellogs cereal, (this weeks deal) and I also got (4) 1.00 up rewards. I didnt see this advertised in the weekly ad, is that the 1.00 up you are reffering to getting?? Is it possible that we would be getting (4) 1.00 up?? Seems way too good to be true, but thought I’d ask you anyway. Oh, and where do you find the montly up deals, are they in a booklet like the monthly scrs?? Thanks!!!
Heather says
Just to let you know Wonderful Pistachios has a $1/1 coupon on their website. Here’s the link. http://getcrackin.com/stores/
Ruth says
There is a site iheartriteaid.com that posts ads a couple weeks in advance. Their site is not as easy to use at this one but it is good information. I use this site most of the time but check other sites for information too.
Alison says
Does anyone know if any of the mars candy is actually priced at 2/$1? I’ve been looking this week as well and haven’t seen the mars brands at that price
Susie says
Yes, I bought some Milky ways on Tuesday for $.50.
Ruth says
The Stayfree coupons BOGO is in 1/9/2011 Smart Source therefore this will be a great deal. There hasn’t been a good sale on personal hygiene stuff so hopefully Rite Aid will have good stock of the Stayfree. I got two Smart Source inserts so far for the 1/9/2011, if anyone is interested in knowing which coupons are in those inserts, let me know and I will try to list them throughout the day.
Shannon says
@Ruth,
hey Ruth, I typed them up here, just so you don’t spend the time :)

Patti T. says
I can’t seem to find the Stayfree coupon. Anyone else having this problem?? Any suggestions??
Melissa says
Okay I may have missed something in the latest post’s here but I thought if something is BOGO at Rite Aid and you have a BOGO coupon then both items are free?
Shannon says
@Melissa,
not sure what you are referring to?
Melissa says
@Shannon,
Shannon you should sell t-shirts, sweatshirts or hats or something with For the Mommas Logo. I would sport one. I like the colors to they are very earth toney.
Shannon says
@Melissa,
he he Melissa.. you know maybe I can do a giveaway. I love the idea. .let me see what I can come up with :)
Julie says
@Melissa, If you are referring to the Kelloggs cereal, the printable B1G1 coupon gives you up to $4.49 worth of product free. The cereal is 4.79-4.99 so you would pay 30c or more unless you have the wellness discount.
Melissa says
@Julie,
I did figure that out after I posted my comment but because it said you would pay oop it threw me off a bit. Thank you for clearing it up! I do have the wellness discount but again I am unclear because it says it only takes my 10% off Rite Aid products. Would the cereal be considered a Rite Aid product because sometimes I get the discount on things that aren’t Rite Aid brands per say. Thanks again!
Julie says
@Melissa, If you just got your wellness card with 0 points to start, you get 10% off of Rite Aid brand only every day. If you are at silver status(you have to accumulate 500 points or more) you get 10% off any items not on sale. Kelloggs would be included in this discount(I got the 10% with this deal) because it is regular price.
Julie says
@Julie, Oops maybe not–it’s B1G1 next week. Got the 10% this week!
Dee says
Is Blink Tears a UPR or SCR?
Dee says
@Dee,
Shannon, you have it listed as both.
Shannon says
@Dee,
fixed. See I should not do Sudafed and Rite Aid matchups at the same time.
Beth says
Do you know if the Finish detergent is also the ones with the little red balls in it? ( I cant remember what those ones are, haha), or is it just lose dry detergent?
Beth says
@Beth, I meant loose.. wow the lack of sleep from my 4month old is getting to me, haha :)
Shannon says
@Beth, ??? I am not sure what you mean .
Beth says
@Shannon, the Finnish dish detergent deal — they have loose powder detergent, and then they have the jet pack things, which are the ones pictured in the coupon i think? I just wanted to know if you knew if the BOGO deal was for one of those specifically, or all Finnish Dishwasher Detergents?
Beth says
@Beth, i think i meant power pack or power ball.. wow I sound like an idiot lol
Shannon says
@Beth,
ha ha ha I read that totally different than you meant it.. its the entire line I believe.
LOL
Beth says
@Shannon, Haha ok thank you! I’m sorry my communication skills are so poor right now lol!
Valerie says
@Beth,
I see red balls in the picture :) The 20 count powerballs are bogo.
Shannon says
@Valerie,
LOLLLL Valerie.. Yes there are definitely red balls in the picture ROFL
Beth says
@Shannon, LOL Thank you both!
Melissa says
@Beth,
That was good, I actually lol on this conversation about the red balls, hehe.
Kara says
I don’t understand the Stayfree BOGO. I thought if you used a BOGO with a BOGO deal both items were free. Can you explain this more, sorry. At my Rite Aid they are always so nice to me. The manager last week asked me if I watched Extreme Couponing. I said yes and she said she thought of me when she was watching it. I said I don’t do it nearly to that level. I usually only go once or twice a week but do get $30-$40 of stuff for very little. I think being nice and staying on the good side is very important. Thanks for the great matchups each week!!
Shannon says
@Kara,
they are 2/$5.00 sorry.
Kara says
Ok I get it now. Thanks for clarifying:)
Amber says
Could you expand a little more on the food items??
Chrys says
Where’s the b1g1 coupon for kellogg’s?
Nicole says
@Chrys,
If you go to the Special K Challenge website and click on the heart to start a Challenge it will lead you to the coupon. I heard though that the coupon can also be printed from their Facebook site.
Tina Seymour says
ok, so derail time … here is my story – FB wont let me post more than 1000 words. You can just delete it after you read it since your messages “await moderation” :)
ok, so I run to RA to get some tea, milk and bread (which after I got home I realized my 20% was not applied??? I have to check into this) Anyway… I walk in and decide to see if there are anymore Pilot pens since the delivery truck came in today. I turn down the stationary aisle and I hear “Tina Tina I have to tell you something!” There is one of the cashiers running towards me lol … So we start chatting and she told me there were no pens on the delivery and she just knew I would be disappointed haha… but goes on to tell me that they call me the “nice coupon lady” and there is another woman that comes in and they call her “the nasty coupon lady” (she yells at them and is always trying to get cash back for her coupons, calls corporate on them 3x’s a week etc…) So evidently she called corporate complaining that she gets there at 10 am Sunday mornings and there is never enough inventory left to do her deals because someone (me) gets there and clears the shelves before she can get there.
first, I have never “cleared a shelf” unless there was like only 2-4 of one item. Secondly, the cashier told me that her husband owns a store and they RESELL all this stuff! can you imagine???
So corporate calls the manager and told him he had to call this woman and apologize and do what it takes to make her happy! OMG she better not be able to go in Saturday evening and get first pick! I get up at 5 am to get my deals together for Sunday … so she needs to get her butt up out of bed and be there waiting at 8 am with me if she wants to make sure she can get the 2 Motrin PMs on the shelf … ok I just had to share. I like that I am the “nice coupon lady” … what a relief! ;)
Shannon says
@Tina Seymour,
bahahahaa.. ok so i have the identical situation. I NEVER shelf clear, unless there is like 1-2. Angry Couponer is what they call her at our store. bahahaha the Angry Couponer!
Tina Seymour says
@Shannon, hahaha i love it. Nasty and Angry couponers should get together!
Ruth says
@Tina Seymour, The people who complain that others clear the shelves want the stuff there so they can “clear the shelves”. Comments like this drive me nuts, most Rite Aids have very little inventory so if one or two shoppers get a couple items, the stuff is gone. No one owns the stuff, the stuff is there to be sold and anyone has a right to buy it. When I go to Rite Aid and the stuff is gone, I don’t get upset, I figure that someone else was lucky enough to get there before me and they got it.
I have a great relationship with the manager and the cashiers at the two Rite Aids in my town, I never complain about the inventory and I always try to have all my coupons on hand so I take very little time at the check out. If another customer comes up, I step out of line and let them go.
Tina Seymour says
@Ruth, thats exactly what the cashier said to me too … she said “you know darn good and well that if she was here before you she would clean the store out!” hahaha
Diana B says
I’m really lucky that my two Rite Aids usually have everything well stocked. They rarely run out unless it’s right before stocking day. I’m very happy with my stores!
Tina Seymour says
oh and dont forget the video value coupons for the Pillow Pet and GE light bulbs! Dont quote me but isnt it $2 off the pillow pet and $2/2 for the light bulbs??
becky b says
@Tina Seymour, ……Hey I just wanted to let you know I love reading about your rite aid trips but can’t remember your blog name. Thanks Shannon for the great deals…Love ur blog!
Shannon says
@becky b,
avacationgenerator.blogspot.com/
Heather says
@Tina Seymour,
I just glanced over your blog from the link Shannon gave. I’m in Slidell, although I just moved from the New Orleans area. It’s nice to see someone close to home with a blog. I can’t wait to read more!
Tina Seymour says
@Heather, Hey!! Sorry I havent updated my blog since my parents came to vist! I am SUCH A BAD BLOGGER!! lol … well at least we have Shannon! I never really get to Slidell often, because i HATE their high sales tax lol … but try to keep me away from the drive thru daquairi shops lol
We are very close! I have to ask though, where do you get your coupon inserts?? I bought the NO paper once thinking they would have better inserts, and they were HORRIBLE! At least that week they were.
Shannon says
@Tina Seymour,
ya’ll go ahead and talk it up.. ROFL
Tina Seymour says
@Shannon, hahaha oops sorry :P
Shannon says
@Tina Seymour,
you can hijack a thread anytime you want.. you know that. :P
Shannon says
just as long as the rest of us can watch Bahahaha!
Tina Seymour says
@Shannon, done! sent an email with my name in the subject line
Heather says
@Tina Seymour,
Hehe Sorry Shannon! Now to totally hijack your thread… Tina- I was once sitting inside a daiquiri shop w/ my now husband and we could see a mom w/ several kids in the back of her minivan go thru the drive thru ordering a few daiquiris and drive away. I could not believe it! Flash forward 3 years and (almost) 3 kids later, well, let’s just say I’ve learned not to judge ;)
I literally haven’t lived in Slidell long enough to know the sales tax, but it was 9% in Metairie. I usually just get The Times Picayune for inserts and don’t know any differently. Thanks for letting me know my inserts are crappy! Now I have inferior insert syndrome! :)
Tina Seymour says
@Heather, hahaha yes we too have driven thru the daq shop with kids in the car … usually my 20 yr old is trying to weasle one from me too. You should see if you can get the Sun Herald, we have much better inserts lol … well at least one week we did. We should compare our inserts on sundays and see if its a huge difference.
Becky says
The Kelloggs cereal doesn’t quite make sense, how do you come up with .30 to .50 cents each after coupon? Sorry probably just brain fry tonight! Thanks
Shannon says
@Becky,
Becky you pay $4.79-$4.99, your BOGO coupon is max value of $4.49, so it would be up to $.50 after your coupon for your “free” box with the coupon, plus one free from rite aid.
Becky says
@Shannon, I see gottcha, sorry very tired last night! Thanks so much
Alison says
There is a Special K coupon in the 1/2 RP. Do you know if we will be able to use that along with the B1G1 Special K coupon?
Amber says
@Alison, Alison, I did this today with no problem. I think RA policy is that you can use a coupon on the item you are paying for. Mine scanned through no problem. HTH!
Shannon says
@Amber,
You cannot use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale and a $1.00/2 .
Amber says
@Shannon, Correct, but my cereals were not BOGO. My coupon in the 1/2 RP was a $1/2. I used this along with my BOGO coupon.
Shannon says
@Amber,
Right, that is exactly what I am saying. Not using a $1.00/2 when you are using a BOGO coupon. That is not correct.
Marie says
@Amber, You can not use a $1/2 coupon with a BOGO coupon. The $1/2 is for both products and you are already using a coupon against the Free items when you use a BOGO coupon.
Plus, in this case, you can not even use a $1/1 with the Special K Cereal BOGO coupon because it’s a “14” so the coupon is attaching to boxes of cereal. If you try to use another coupon against 1 of them, the coupon will beep.
You can only use a coupon against one of the products you are buying if the BOGO coupon is a “01” in the last 2 digits of the barcode.
Shannon says
@Alison,
no you cannot use a $1.00/2 coupon along with the BOGO coupon.
Cost Cutters on Facebook says
@Shannon,
but you can use a $1/1 :) can print two per computer…it printed for me yesterday, i’m not sure if it still works…good luck!
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?bt=vg&tqnm=qfjlfir6082801&o=7580&c=SF&p=JRZPh1nc
Shannon says
@Cost Cutters on Facebook,
The answer I got from my contact — is this – a coupon coded 14 is meant to tie to both products.
So if it is on sale BOGO at the store, you can use a $1.00/1 on the one your are purchasing.
If you are using a BOGO coupon, and it is coded 14, it is meant to be tied to both products, so therefore the $1.00 is off the table. Since that is how it is being explained to me and it makes total sense – that is how I will be posting from here on out. If the coupon is coded 01 then it is ok to use a secondary coupon on it.
It is everyone’s choice to do as they want with the information — but I have decided to post what I believe the codes mean and everyone can decide from there.
Krissy says
Think there might be any good deals on the Aveeno with the buy $25 get $10 ups? It also looks like you will get $1 up back for each item you buy. There are also supposed to be coupons this week, if our area gets those (fingers crossed) ??
Shannon says
@Michelle,
thanks, but a coupon coded 14 really is tied to both products, so I like to let people know that is the manufacturers intention, beeps or no.
Rachel says
@Shannon, Thanks, Shannon! I feel people try to ‘get by’ with things that weren’t intended by the manufacture. I, for one, do not feel like you should do it just because the register doesn’t beep. I appreciate bloggers that don’t include things that are questionable in their deals. You rock!
Shannon says
@Rachel,
I agree and I totally understand that sometimes you just don’t know, believe me I am far from perfect, I miss size limitations etc, but I do like to atleast let people know what the intention is – you can do whatever your choose after that — :)
Brandi says
So I am totally confused – I went and looked at some other BOGO coupons and they were all coded with “14” even the gillette deoderant that you were able to use with the $2.00 off coupon a few weeks ago at rite aid – this was the deal posted:
DEAL IDEA:
Buy 2 Gillette Deodroants $8.00
use BOGO Coupon
use 2/1 Gillette coupon
Get $3.00 UPR
Free after UPR & Coupons
I just want to be honest and am curious if all BOGO coupons are that way and how do you know when a 14 means that?
Shannon says
@Brandi,
This is new to me. Brought to my attention in another post by another reader. :)
Cost Cutters on Facebook says
@Shannon,
isn’t it because it’s $1 off of ONE and not TWO. That should be fine.
Shannon says
Brandi,
Last week this is the message that I got in an email from another reader. I followed up on this email and this is correct:
If the last 2 digits of the UPC barcode number end in 14 then the coupon attaches to both items. If you try to use another coupon it will beep. If it ends in 00, then the coupon is just attaching to the Free item and you can use a coupon against the other item, beep free
Brandi says
@Shannon, Thanks so much!I have a hard time sometimes just with the verbage on a coupon – now I have decode a bar code!! I’m glad to be informed – thanks for the info!!
Shannon says
@Brandi,
I am working on trying to understand it so I can explain it to everyone. I am not judging anyone, I promise.. I am just trying to keep it honest and heres the thing, there is no way I am going to be able to check every bogo coupon either for my posts. SO I am not sure what to do.
Corrina H. says
@Shannon, Thank you for letting me know that. I don’t want to do anything that is unethical. Other blogs say it’s ethical, I’ve always felt a little unsure. Now I know for sure. No more BOGO with money off Qs if it ends in 14 for me =)
dori says
@Brandi, at my rita they wouldnt take the gillette bogo coupons along with the $ off coupon for the one i was paying for. they told me they wont get their money back. so i decided verus being known as the “rude coupon Lady” ill smile and say thank you for telling me! (rita aid clerks are usualy very nice to me. But now walmart…. i just ask for my coupons back return items and go to target!
Michelle says
I jumped the gun and bought 4 packs of stay free for $2.50 at RA and used 2 bogo coupons and used 2 $1/1 expires 1/31 (not sure which insert sorry) and it scanned with no beeps. :)
Ruth says
@Michelle, The register computers are programmed to check if the coupons can be used and if it doesn’t beep, the coupon is ok to use. This was told to me by one of the managers at Rite Aid. This policy is to insure that the cashiers don’t have a hard time with customers who use coupons and have to make a judgement call. Some cashiers still give couponers a hard time but they are going against coorporate directive. The problem is also that some managers don’t pass information on to the cashiers.
Krissy says
You’re the best! Thanks for posting this so early!
Shannon says
@Krissy,
Working on getting on a schedule. Trying for Weds — I had to go into the store and beg for the ad today — i told her i had an addiction and I was breaking out in cold sweats LOL
Tina Seymour says
@Shannon, hahaha I can relate :) they offered the ad to me today and I said oh thats ok, I see it online 2 weeks ahead of time anyway and know whats coming out :)
I have a funny story to share though… I will post it for you on FB. I dont want to derail this thread
Shannon says
@Tina Seymour,
Lol, well normally the boot leg ad scans are so bad and don’t include all of our good PA deals LOL
Tina Seymour says
@Shannon,
boot leg hahaha … they seem to match my ads, so I peek lol
I tried to type my funny story but FB said it was too long! I reread it and just didnt see anything I could possibly leave out. ughhh
Shannon says
@Tina Seymour,
leave it here.
Corrina H. says
@Shannon, Since I’m in CA, I look at Southern CA’s ad on Friday since RA has it posted online then…just use a SoCal zip instead…lol.
By the way, my RA has Swiss Miss on sale for $1.69 this week. It wasn’t in the ad, but it’s tagged in the store. Yay for free hot chocolate :)
Shannon says
@Corrina H.,
lol I am trying to have them posted by Weds as a preview. There are a few sites that have photo copies of ads that people got early.
Corrina H. says
@Shannon, and I appreciate all the hard work you do. I’ve see those ads too, but us Californians can’t seem to rely on those ads…like the AirWick and Wet Ones deals not being in our area this week =( But I still did good =)
Shannon says
Exactly, that is why I always say to check your ad. California specifically gets a different ad.
mona says
@Tina Seymour, Hey there… can you tell me how you see the ad 2 weeks ahead. I cant seem to get a handle on time and if i could just plan a sunday morning shop before the kids get up, it would help with my insanity.. thanks!!!
