If anyone else has the problem I described please call Guest Services at Target 800-440-0680 and press 2 then 3. Do this from the store phone, they will inform staff to scan your coupon as you wish. This is the method I used to get them to relent.
I had 3 of the 11.99 pedigree dry food, 3 treats for 3.49 and a treat for 3.74, all pedigree treats, paid a little over 21 and got the 3 target cards no problem.
Target staff was rude and condescending at the store again today especially after the call was placed. If you get denied, try try again. It appears Target is trying to “talk the guest out of it” by making you try to hit 50.00 after coupons when people don’t want to, or face not allowing the 15 off 50 coupon. Also it appears today Target staff is not bringing any more out of the stockroom of the dry food bags. YMMV. More issues with the 5 of 15 Personal care coupon on another thread :(
Thanks for your support Shannon and everyone else here!

Target here in PA just denied me, they said that the 15 off 50 has to be 50 dollars after coupons and discounts. THAT HAS NEVER BEEN THE CASE and I argued vehemently. Please let me know if you have similiar experiences. If they aren’t going to take it for 21 dollars then I highly recommend you avoid. Most Pedigree dog food products contain BHA which is a confirmed carcinogen. I would have accepted for 21 OOP and the 15 in Target cards but not when they
tell me I have to go back for $20 more in excess goods when I know that’s never been the case in the past. Ugh.
Shannon says
Joe, Never ever ever have had that happen. Ever. Sorry :(
Lauren says
Actually the math is correct… There’s $12 off in just dog food so maybe you should calculate before you comment
Adriann says
Sorry sweetie but that doesn’t add up to your total you have listed if you get 3 dogfood at $11.99 and two treats at $3.29 and two treats at $3.79 That is $50.13 use the $15.00 off coupon makes it $35.15 Minus the $3 dogfood coupons and the $2 in treats coupon makes it $30.15 get back $15 in giftcards makes it $15.15 Calculate before you post.
Shannon says
I thought about how I should respond to this and since I went to church this morning.. I will just say this.. the deal works and maybe you can read it again and recalculate to see where you are wrong.
Have a nice day.
Jodie says
Technically she is only 10 cents off. It would be $21.13 you pay and then get $15 back in gift cards. Sweetie you might want to calculate before you criticize a post.
Shannon says
Hey Jodie,
Thanks I actually made a typo as I was typing up the scenario. The price is $3.74 instead of $3.79, so it should work. These scenarios are tricky and even sometimes if I look at them 10 ways , I still miss it. Sometimes, it is because I am excited like a 10 year old getting a gift!
Thank you for GENTLY pointing it out :) That goes a long way. Having Grace is a gift. Enjoy your day.
Jodie says
I figured it was a typo..but regardless it frustrates me to see peoples’ first response to post be one of criticism instead of gratitude for someone else doing the hard work for us in order to help us. And even if it turned out to be the way she had posted it is still cheaper than if you hadn’t used any coupons at all.

The other ladies got here before me, but you are obviously leaving out about $9 in dog food coupons in your own calculations.
