I just wanted to take a minute to post this. It makes me smile when I think of each amazing person who took the time to send something to the flood victims. . I am proud to call of you my friends. I want to personally thank all of you.
We are proof that couponers are not greedy hoarders, only thinking of themselves. Thank you again to everyone who donated.
The letter from Liesa:
Dear Shannon and FTM subscribers,
I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the many donations of coupons and personal care items you have sent to support families effected by the recent flooding in Central PA.
It was all I could do to stop crying (tears of joy) each time my pastor gave me another package, this week. We have received blessings from FL, SC, TN, MA and of course our home state of PA, just to name a few. We are simply overwhelmed by your generosity and support.
This week in our feeding program, we have fed more homeless and displaced families than ever before. In addition we are providing care packages containing personal supplies, water, and 1-2 days of food to individuals who continue to have no shelter and boxes of food and cleaning supplies to families who have suffered tremendous losses in their homes. Through your acts of kindness, we have been able to meet the ongoing needs in our community. Thank You for “loving thy neighbor”.
Blessings,
Liesa

My hometown (Annville, PA) had some bad flooding by the Quittapahilla Creek; some houses entirely submerged, several marked for demolition now. A relative of mine lives on a creek-lined street where dumpster after dumpster has been loaded up with everything that has been destroyed. Thankfully, her house isn’t one that was destroyed completely, so she has been working to gather items for her neighbors. I was happy to empty out my stockpile, and it’s a great opportunity to show my step daughter about helping others and being a good steward.

Shannon, I am in the Binghamton NY area where over 2000 families were affected by the flood. Yesterday my daughter and I cleared off our toiletries shelves and put together hundreds of dollars of items that we paid pennies on the dollar for. We are donating half of our stock to a fundraiser for two families who lost everything. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Thanks for what you do. You are helping families in more ways than you know.

Dawn, isnt it amazing to be able to give! I know many people wouldn’t have the means to help if they weren’t couponing.
