Even if you do not have any growing children, buying clothing at thrift stores is a great way to cut costs. Even small thrift stores can be overwhelming, and it is best to have a plan before you go.

Whether you are asked to donate to charity , or whether your cousin needs a little help with his finances, we often get hung up on whether or not we have enough cash to help out. Donate items : Since my son is an only child, his clothing doesn’t get a lot of heavy use. We usually send him home with the leftovers.

If your son lives in skate clothing and hates all things collared, getting the New-With-Tags Polo shirt for $4.00 will feel good at the store but at the end of the day will simply be $4.00 I note when my son’s jeans are in need replacement. The next time I’m at a thrift store, then I know to focus my attention there.

Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. When she died, I passed the cases on to my son – whose wife has 3 adorable little Yorkies. I hate waste and I see it all the time.
