I know I am probably a little behind, but what does Moneymaker mean?
cha$$ching says
It means that you get back more $$$ than you paid in. So if you are spending $8 on good and getting $12 in gas, you’ve made $4. Money maker.
cha$$ching says
****food**** dumb autocorrect
Tawna says
My only problem with all this is I have enough for 3 free 30 gal fill ups already. Did one and I am sure we will need one more before it expires. The third one will be tight. What a problem to have and I have not bought the tuna yet.
The Queen of CVS says
Dad and I preordered 56 cans of tuna tonight! I’m so excited for this deal (esp. b/c dad doesn’t eat tuna, which means I’ll get it all). Bring on the zombies!
Andrea says
Let’s just hope they put on sale 112oz cans of chocolate pudding. Then we’ll really be set for the zombie apocalypse.
The Queen of CVS says
lol, Andrea! Life after the apocalypse would be just a little sweeter! ;)
Shannon says
LOL this cracked me up!
Lauren says
Man, wishing I was going to PA this coming week instead of the week after these deals.
Vicky says
7 cans of tuna at 88 cents a can has to be the cheapest and easiest 400 gas points ever! I hope Giant headquarters has, oh, maybe 50 truckloads to distribute…and maybe that isn’t enough! I’m sure they will be issuing lots of rain checks, and probably selling boatloads of tuna for the next couple weeks!
tabby says
hehe boatloads of tuna
alex says
so what happens with the rest of your points if you have more than 2.20 of gas? i have $3.10 as of right now, i had no idea of this issue! ugh! will i be able to use the rest another visit or just lose them> i hope not or i will be returning my items!
tabby says
They *should* stay on your account until either the current gas period runs out, or 30 days is up, whichever your Giant participates with.
Kathie says
Alex, from what I am gathering, you are either a Stop & Shop or Giant MD shopper. If I am correct, the extra points stay on your account for 30 days after you earn them. If you don’t use the points by the 30th day, you lose them.
Kurt says
Just have to find some shelf space for 70 cans of tuna. Maybe between the 70 cans of Campbell’s home style soup and the 60 boxes of Betty Crocker Potatoes. :)
Actually after cutting off the boxtops for education and Campbell’s labels for education, I plan to donate about half of these products to the local food bank. Have to keep some room for next weeks deal.
Vicky says
I think a lot of us are going to be eating a lot of tuna, Home Style soup and Betty Crocker potatoes. And, I already had pretty much tuna, soup and potatoes before these deals came along. On the bright side, they make good emergency supplies – we all have plenty of food if we are snowed in anytime in the next few years!
Shannon says
Shhh No snow.
french toast says
I believe you are in denial.
MissyLiz says
Check with the foodbank beforehand. Most of them cannot accept the items if parts of the box/label are missing.
chilidogs says
I love this site. Gas deals are the onions!

Just called my Martin’s in Harrisonburg, VA. They don’t let you pre-order but he’d already seen the ad and knew the tuna and Propel were going to be a great deal and said he was going to make sure they order plenty. I know I can’t make it to the store until after noon on Sunday so I almost wonder if it’s better to wait until another truck comes in later in the week!
Tawna says
I have found the shelves bare at my Giant in Bloomsburg and they let us pre buy.
Laura says
I also shop at the Harrisonburg, VA store and I rarely have a problem with the gas deals being cleared out. Plus they usually have the really hot items in more than one place. For example one day I thought they were wiped clean of Pepsi Next, so I asked a stocker and he showed me what he called “the secret wall of savings”. Haha. It was basically a lot more Pepsi Next in a really odd spot three aisles down. I NEVER would have found it on my own. :)
Stacie says
I just ordered two cases at my Whitehall, Pa Giant. They were very nice about it. I am so excited!!
Natalie says
thanks awesome Stacie! Please feel free to share your photos on the FTM Facebook page, I would love to see it. Have a great day,
Natalie

These are some great deals. I’m really just getting back into couponing and wondering about the limits. How many gas deals can you do in one order? How much can you take off a gallon of gas (until it is free?) And do you just talk to a manager to preorder items? I was so disappointed when I went on Monday a couple weeks ago and all the Campbell’s homestyle soup was already cleared out.
tabby says
In this case you can do 10 sets of 6 items (total of 60 items) in all. You can do that all in one order.
If you’re shopping Giant PA, you’ll be able to get a full tank of gas for free. How much you get off of a gallon is up to the price of gas. If you have 4000 points and gas is $3.50, It’ll take 3500 points off and you’ll have 500 leftover for the next time. Most Giant MD and VA have a limit of $2.20/gallon MAX on gas, so the most you can save per gallon is $2.20. You’ll never get a full free tank of gas.
Preordering is YMMV. Some managers will do it, some won’t. Just check with customer service.
If they don’t have an item in for gas deals, more than likely you are able to get a raincheck for at least one set of gas deals (i.e. 400 points worth). Some stores will give you more, and then you’ll get the gas points too.

I mean 7 items for next week. Whoops! Still have this week on the brain!
Wendy says
THanks for the explanation!
Ruth says
You can do 10 deals and if you want, you can do them all at once but unless you preorder the tuna, they won’t have enough in stock. Last week, I actuallly had 3.7 off 30 gallons so I paid 0.00 for those 30 gallons of gas. The Campbell soup was a great deal so you usually need to get there early when there is a great deal on the gas points.
Carolyn says
Psst! It’s buy 7 items get .40 cents off. So if you are going to do the limit of 10 gas deals on tuna then you would need 70 cans. HTH!
C.
tabby says
Thanks for catching that Carolyn! Guess I need some caffeine…
Stacie says
What is the procedure to pre-order the tuna? How many are in a case?
Andrea says
Maybe Shannon can order some for you.
Ruth says
Since the deal is buy 7, get 400, you may need to order 70 cans if you want to reach your limit of 10 deals.
Ron says
I like tuna salad. I like tater salad better, but tuna salad is a close second.
Jen says
They call me Tater Salad.
Jen says
You can call or go to the store and order, HTH.
Lydia @ The Thrifty Frugal Mom says
SO excited about the tuna! We love it around here and I’ve had a hard time finding good deals lately.
Heathcliff says
me too!!!!!
Kristen says
I think I need to start driving more. I have so many gas points from the gift card deal this week, I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to take full advantage of these great deals!
Thanks for posting the ad! I love being able to see it ahead of time.
Mara says
That has happened to me too Kristen. I need to plan a trip somewhere lol. I have $3.5 in gas points and 15 gallons in my backyard. I am skipping this week’s deals but will get some tuna next week.
James Newman says
Already pre-ordered 2 cases of tuna!
Jen says
Are you single James?
jamee says
No…my family simply likes tuna
Jen says
That’s a shame.
FaithL says
My family loves tuna too. I ordered 2 cases too!!!
Ruth says
Tuna is a great item to have in the house, you can keep it in storage for a long time and you can make tuna salads and other easy dishes.
Carolyn says
Whoa! Very nice ! thank you!
