Walmart tells store managers to price match Amazon & other online prices

Reuters is reporting that Walmart corporate informed more than 5,000 stores across the United States that they can price match with Amazon.com and other online retailers.

The announcement makes formal and widespread a practice that has been going on at select stores across the nation for a while.

The move is to prevent show rooming, a practice where shoppers find products in the store, then purchase them online from other retailers.

Shoppers taking advantage of the online price match will need to have the online price visible on their phone or mobile device.   Although the price match policy doesn't require an actual hard copy of the ad, it may save shoppers some hassle.

The online ad match guarantee policy has not been updated as of the time of this post.
