WHY: Summer is a vulnerable time for Birmingham children who rely on lunch programs during the school year. In Alabama, only 7.4 percent of school children who rely on federal free or reduced-price school lunches during the school year currently receive free summer meal programs.
Arby’s is working to support the Birmingham Regional Empowerment and Development Center to bring more meals to Alabama children and raise awareness about how area families can receive free meals during the summer months.
