How To: Mix Prints (the right way)

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

Mixing prints and patterns is not for the faint of heart. This can be one tricky look to pull off, but if done correctly, this can be a fun, bold fashion statement! Summer, in my opinion, is the perfect time for mixing prints. A simple, striped tank can be paired with a floral skirt to create a subtle mixed print look…but be WARNED…there is a HUGE line that can potentially be crossed with mixed prints.

White Out

The Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire

I wish I could take credit for this outfit, but honestly it is a pure copy of an outfit I saw Kendi from Kendi Everyday wear last week. I just fell in love with her all white/nude outfit and knew I was absolutely was going to copy it. However, I felt like the outfit wasn't complete without a splash of color so I added my bright green belt. I guess, it is not really a white out then.

Hello…Is It Me You’re Looking For?

Work With What You've Got

Oh, Hello there. I know I said I was going to blog less often, but I never meant it to be like THIS. I will now give you a list of my excuses: 1. Over the weekend I looked really good, more than once, but I didn’t get dressed until the sun went down and it was too dark to take pictures. 2. Also, I’ve been lazy. 3. The AC has been broken at the office and as a result, I look a hot mess by the end of the day. 4.

Trend Report: “The New Look” Recovered

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

“The New Look&# has a new age. In 1947 after the war, Dior made its name by giving women what they wanted, clothes that made them feel like women again! Because fabric no longer had to be rationed for the war the skirts got bigger and the waists got tinnier. This style of dress was dubbed “The New Look&# by Harper’s Bazaar. From the looks of the runways and the red carpets I’d say that good times are ahead!

The F.A.B Report: The Cat’s Meow!

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

The fashion world’s attempt to return to classic femininity is not only taking over the clothes but the accessories too. And I couldn’t be more excited about it! Cat Eye glasses were geek chic for so long that I did not think that they would ever be able to be taken out of that ultra retro look. But just leave it to designers like Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford to make something old so new.

This is the best shave gel ever. It is inexpensive, you can buy it in-store at Trader Joe’s , or you can also buy it online here …. I buy them two at a time, and I’m set for a while…. I really have yet to find a similar product at this price point that works this well… this sizable tube is only about $8.00 … ! The forumla leaves my skin post-shave smoother than any other product I’ve tried… and the smell really is heavenly (mango, honey!).

My number one obsession isn’t heels or bags right now…it’s T-shirts ! In my opinion there is nothing like that perfect tee that makes you feel comfortable and still has that laid back sexy look. The funny thing is- something as simple as a great t-shirt is not as easy to come by as most might think! One of my bigger problems is that when I find the perfect tee ( James Perse I’m talking to you!

Look for Less: Reese Witherspoon

Cute, cute, cuuute ! I love this outfit, and I especially love it on Reese Witherspoon … it’s such a carefree, all-American look, and, as you know, comfort is a huge plus in my book! On top of all that, I also like that this ensemble incorporates some of the season’s trendiest items: the safari (or some might say military ) jacket and the fedora (some might say panama ) hat….

Just one look at how effortlessly cool Sienna Miller looks in this picture and she won me over…and it’s a great illustration of how to execute this risky trend! Now before you tell me about the heat wave (I live in Philly and we’re dying)…yes, I know its really hot out and I’m not recommending boots when its 100+ degrees ou

The Black & Blue color combination in theory sounds so wrong…but in actuality it’s so right! Just Enough Ruffles…

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

When I saw this tank on jcrew.com I knew it was for me. I like ruffles, but I like subtle ruffles. I buy tons of tank tops, but most of them tend to be on the simple side. What I liked about this tank is that it has one detailed row of loose ruffles right down the center that dresses it up just enough without being overwhelming. Plus it’s not skin tight, which makes it a perfect, breezy summer piece.
