Playing CopyCat

The Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire

So on Friday, I basically copied my outfit from EmersonMade ; and today, I am basically copying the outfit Christine over at My Style Pill wore the other day. Photo from MyStylePill. Can we tell that I am hurting for my own inspiration? Umm , yeah maybe just a little. Sometimes during this time of year when it gets so cold, it is still dark in the morning, and I just want to lay in bed for the extra 15 minutes; I need someone to make my fashion decisions for me.

Work With What You've Got

Well hello there casual! I’ve missed you. The tassel necklace is one of the things Mikal brought over, and if she had said “you can have one thing”, this is the one thing I would have taken. (I know that is an awkward, scroll-y crop, but the smaller picture just didn’t show the details) What’s really funny it that it seems SO versatile and yet I had a super hard time coming up with an outfit I could make work with it.

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

Everyone is talking about how big nudes are going to be this coming spring , so it’s no wonder trendsetter Olivia Palermo is already a bit ahead of the rest of us. Sporting an all-over neutral -heavy look could be disastrous, but what I think makes Olivia’s outfit work so well is the fact that she cleverly pairs her beige accessories with a printed dress which instantly adds a splash of contrast… but not *too* much to ruin the overall effect.

Beauty Must-Have: Rosewater

If I could take back all those years of using harsh alcohol-based toners, I would. What was I thinking? Now that I’m older and wiser, I know that gentle, hydrating toners are the way to go. A friend of mine recommended rosewater to me, and I haven’t used anything since. It’s natural, fresh, the smell is pleasant but not overwhelming, and it won’t irritate even the most sensitive skin.

The F.A.B. Report: The Bralette

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

So what is a bralette ? I was sort of wondering the same thing. Then, it hit me. I immediately thought back to when I was in college. My French friend Sophie, who was living in the States at the time, asked me where she could find a bra that was “made like a shirt on top” to wear with a deep v-neck she had just bought. At the time, I was puzzled, thinking she just wanted some sort of fancy undershirt but couldn’t find a word in English….

I was most intrigued by her style because she is one of my personal " STYLE ICONS " in the blogosphere.

Finally, I decided to create a DIY Detail Shoulder Sweater that I have been seeing everyone wear. This project was relatively easy thanks to a little something, I like to call Miracle in a Tube (or aka Liquid Stitch) and a few pins to keep everything in place. I took out the pads that come in your push-up bra ( I hate those things and always take them out for some reason) and used them as shoulder pads for the sweater.

I Feel Like A Zebra with A Sunburn

The Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire

Every time I wear black and white with an accent of red, I always feel like a zebra with a sunburn. No idea why, but I do! Maybe because red is usually the obvious color to pair with black and white; but I have to say the combination always looks chic, so I can't help my veer towards it. So last night I got fed up with my hair and instead of doing what a normal person would and make an appointment with the salon; I decided to take scissors to my hair myself.
