5 cheap ways to stay cool during the day without getting naked

If you're sick of being sticky, sweaty and fighting chafe from your thighs rubbing, then you must be in Alabama during August.

Since most of us have to get out of the house during the day and can't strap an air condition unit to our face or walk around naked, we must get resourceful to stay cool.

Here are five cheap ways to stay cool(er) during the day without getting naked:

1. Deodorant isn't just for the armpits -- Ladies if you wear skirts or dresses and men if you wear loose pants you may be familiar with chafed thighs if you don't have thigh gap. If you've ever experienced inner thigh pain you know you will walk funny for a few days until it's gone.

Here's a quick trick: Swipe or spray deodorant on your inner thighs, right where they meet.  Be generous.  This will almost, without fail prevent chafing.

2.  Peppermint Oil -- Never heard of peppermint oil?  Well now you have.  I buy organic 100 percent pure peppermint oil from an herb shop for around $8 for a 1 oz bottle.  Sounds expensive but it will last a long time.  Here's what I do to keep myself cool -- I dot the oil on my pulse points, wrist, neck etc. I also rub some on my chest and under my nose.  A little goes a long way.

The oil evaporates, cools and opens up my nasal passages. Test a small patch of skin before using too much, just in case you're allergic to it.

3.  Go Commando -- Don't panic.  I personally do not do this, but I know folks who swear by it as a way to stay cool during the day.  If it works there is a secondary benefit, less laundry.  Am I right?

4.   Wipes -- Don't leave home without a small pack of baby wipes or Wet Ones.  These little guys can quickly cool you down by wiping off your face, neck and behind your ears.  This is a quick and instant relief.

5.  Make your own mister -- Don't build a misting tent at your desk.  However you can stop by the Dollar Tree and buy a little spray bottle and fill it with ice water.  Keep it in your car or desk or locker and gently mist your self.  Not to the point where it looks like you're dripping with sweat.

So tell me do you have a way of keeping cool while you're on the go?
