It was a hard transition for me to go from being an equal financial contributor in my marriage to staying at home with a baby and not bringing in a paycheck. Even though I was helping my husband from home part-time with his business, I still felt like I wasn’t contributing to our finances and that drove me crazy.

If he indulges in his penchant for gifting HIS favorite cause, I send equal amounts to my struggling brother. At the time, I was working part time for about 8 hours a weekend, earning minimum wage. He suspected something was wrong when he didn’t see any money coming out of my part time job.

I also teach college part-time in addition to working on my freelance writing career. Just like having a professional appearance is important, using professional communication is equally important. I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty confused about what I want to be when I grow up. Especially tone. There’s more!

Along our part-time business my husband is a senior web designer for Ramsey Solutions aka Dave Ramsey. We live a pretty busy lives and when given free weekends at home we love spending time at home on our little farm. Both are equally important and both need to be heard and respected in our finances.

My husband works as an architect and I teach art part time at my son’s school. Our loan payments each month were almost equal to our mortgage! Just as others may struggle with staying on budget, we struggled in dealing with not having much time for each other or as a family during that time. We felt really trapped.
