Frugal Decor: Repurpose a shadowbox into an event ticket holder 'Admit One'

Do you save tickets to events, movies, concerts, museums etc.?  You're just like me.

I saw an idea on

to turn a shadowbox into a ticket keeper.

I fell in love.

However, finding a shadowbox with a sliding side is not easy or cheap.

Lucky for me I purchased 3 shadowbox frames in 2000 from Kirkland's.  I collected chili pepper motif stuff at the time.

For the longest they sat in storage until my husband got the idea to use a rotozip to cut a hole in the frame so I could drop the tickets inside the frame.

It worked.  We removed the peppers and added scroll stickers purchased at Walmart for a $1.

The fun came when we hunted down stacks of tickets.  Some from our dating years, the kids found tickets they had saved and we dropped them into the frame.

I'm sure it will fill up.  That's OK we have 2 more to fill up.
