Have an Exciting Pokemon Lunch Date with your Child
Imagine treating your child to the time of their life on a very special “themed” lunch date! Now continue using those creative juices by planning a unique and exciting scavenger hunt adventure using the Pokemon Go app during your lunch date! Some might refer to this as a round robin lunch date approach, but the basics of setting up this type of lunch date adventure are simple.
Map Out Best Lunch Spots: Map out ahead of time which fast food restaurants, or sit down dining restaurants are close to Poke Stops in your area. Pay attention to ones that have lures active most days and aim for using some of those as your “stop” points for your lunch date. If none of the restaurants in your area are taking advantage of using lures to attract customers to their facilities near Poke Stops, then consider investing in buying a lure or leveling your Trainer character up high enough to earn a free lure module of your own. Use this lure and activate it on the Poke Stop near you during your lunch date adventure, so your child has a better chance of seeing more varieties of Pokemon in shorter amounts of time.
Activate Special Items: Make sure you activate a lucky egg during the same time you activate the lure as well as activating an incense on your child’s device. These all last for exactly 30 minutes. Have your child save their Pokemon they want to evolve to use during this time.
A lucky egg enables the user to have double the experience points during that half hour. Evolving Pokemon gains tons of experience points so naturally you will want to do that while the lucky egg is in use. An incense is similar to a lure, but is only capable of luring Pokemon to that one user as opposed the the lure module which enables all users within a certain radius to benefit from the lure being used at a given Poke Stop.
Restaurant Hop and Poke Stop Hop: Either swing through drive thru windows and order one part of your meal at different locations, or grab your entire meal at the nearest Poke Stop and activate your lure AFTER you have finished eating (unless you are pressed for time with a short lunch break). You’ll want to make the most of every minute of lure, incense, and lucky egg activation time.
Pose For Pictures With The Pokemon: Take Pictures along the way from silly poses of you or your child next to the Pokemon, or get creative with where you position the Pokemon in the screenshot before proceeding to catch it in the Pokeball. If you are lucky enough, you or your child may find a Pikachu or Bulbasaur that you can grab a snapshot with in the car while adventuring together. This makes it appear like the wild Pokemon is in the front seat or backseat with you. These pictures will be special memories to both of you and you can have fun sharing pics of your Pokemon Go Lunch Date on social media with family and friends.
End With An Amazing Gift: Even the most memorable moments come to an end at some point, but you can still give your child one last special gift to remember the occasion. Hop around to some key Poke Stops before heading home so your child can stock up on free items! They can get things like extra pokeballs, potions, revives, eggs, and even berries! Each time you stop at a Poke Stop, your child will get extremely happy to find these free treasures as each time you get them it is totally random. They could end up with anywhere from 2-8 items or more in just one Poke Stop. Just spin the circle pic to make the items pop out. Another fun fact – these Poke Stops reset every five minutes so if you live in an area with you can find several bunched together, that’s even better! You can make rounds a few times and go home with a load of goodies in their items section of the app.
Enjoy spending some fun quality time with your child!
