Are you an Xbox fan or a PlayStation fan? Well if price is the deciding factor Microsoft and Sony are not going to make your choice any easier this holiday shopping season. Microsoft has announced it is lowering the price of Xbox One (without Kinect) by another $50.00, bringing the price down to $349.00. This is a temporary price cut running from Sunday November 2nd through January 3rd. This price will be available through most major retailers.
I don’t expect to see any amazing deals this holiday season or Black Friday for just the Xbox One console. I do expect to see retailers offering all sorts of bundles (games, controllers etc.) at different price points. Just do your math and make sure the bundle is a good deal before purchasing (figure $349.00 for the console, $60.00 each for games and controllers at regular price.)
I expect the Sony PS4 consoles to be on sale starting on Thanksgiving for about the same price of the Xbox One; around $350.00. The Wii U will most likely come in around $260, but like the Xbox One, expect to see a lot of bundle deals.
My prediction is we will see most of the gaming console and video game deals on Thanksgiving Day. As I mentioned above, I expect most of the Xbox One and Wii U deals to be bundles with games and controllers and the Sony PS4 to drop in price to match the Xbox One price. There may be some retailer specific gift card deals to make things more interesting.
One final note, we may see some “door buster” deals for Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday on older game console models (Xbox 360, PS3.) Think hard before you purchase one. Game choices will be limited for older consoles. Most new release games may not be compatible with an old version. It is not a good deal if you cannot play the games you want or if the console is obsolete in 6 months.
Happy Shopping!

I enjoyed this post. Keep them coming! As a non-tech savvy Mom, I can use all the advice I can get and I trust forthemommas. We are shopping for the Disney Infinity 2.0 & a Kindle this year. Hoping for a good deal!
