Well, there are some interesting developments with the Youth Code Kits. For some people, they are ringing up on sale for $29.99 – not listed in the ad anywhere – but reader Jessica found this was the case. Interestingly enough the $5.00 UPR is printing with a $29.99 purchase. Arrggh.. Rite Aid is making it difficult for us.

I sent mine in hoping. The rebate says $30 “worth.” So I circled the product and the original price and underlined the word “worth”. In my opinion the $.01 shouldn’t matter but the wording makes it seem like they should take it either way.
Tracy says
I just called Loreal and the lady said they received an email this morning telling them to honor the $29.99 receipts. I also emailed them with the same question, and she said i will get the same answer by email. (i will include the email answer with the rebate just to be sure!)
Lakebreeze says
Store manager price modified the LOreal Youth Code Kit to $30 without a problem. He’s excellent to work with. Another shopper was so glad that I’d asked because she was able to do it too.
Jan says
Hello everyone! Quick question. Is it confirmed that Loreal will honor the rebate if I pay with Up Rewards or does it need to be cash/credit? Thank you!
Courtney says
i just called and the woman told me that they are going to have an answer by the end of the week. I hope all the calls wiill make them decide to accept it at the price of $29.99 ! *fingers crossed*
Donna says
Well I gave them a call and offered the penny :)
It was a company than handles rebates for various different products and the woman said that they are waiting on official word as to what exceptions can be made (I suppose because the promotion just started yesterday). She said she they will call when they get official word.
Not a very satisfying result BUT if everyone else calls they might get the message *hint hint*
Rachel says
I just called the number on the rebate and the very nice women I spoke with told me to go ahead and send it in because they shouldn’t kick it out, but if they do, to call the number back and tell them I spoke with somebody before sending it in and was given an okay. I’m going to go ahead and do it, so hopefully they won’t get in a tizzy over a penny.
Nicole says
@Rachel, crazy…I just a completely different answer from calling the same place! Hoping your lady was right! :)
Rachel says
@Nicole, I hope she was, too! She seemed just as hopeful as all of us that it reject it completely since it is, after all, just a stupid penny. I’d like to think as many people as there are out there trying to take advantage of this deal, they have mercy on us and give us the rebate. Customer is always right, right?
Nicole says
I called the number on the rebate form this morning. They will DISQUALIFY the rebate as the guidelines they got from L’Oreal does say $30.00.
However, after you get the disqualification notification, you can dispute it, and they will contact the manufacturer to ask if they will honor the rebate.
The lady I spoke to was very clear that they can NOT guarantee anything, and they cannot find out in advance if these will be honored. So it is a risk.
Nicole says
@Nicole, Sorry, I am referring to the purchase of $29.99 kit.
Sarah says
@Nicole,
Thanks for posting your info,
I can’t say I’m surprised. The rebate clearinghouses look for the tiniest reason to disqualify rebates and this one is pretty obvious. Save your stamp here.
Christina says
Ok, just went and here’s what I did.
1 Day moisturizer 19.99
1 day/night moisturizer 19.99
total 39.98
used 2 $3 off man coupons
used 2 $5 VV
used $1 off any purchase VV
paid $22.98
paid with $22 UPR
OOP .98
got back 2 $5 UPRS
$5 SCR
$10 MIR
Total will be a $2.02 money maker!
Not too shabby!
carl says
my store did a price adjustment to the shelf price at $34.99, but said it was the weirdest request that they had ever had :)
Jenna says
@carl, I’m doing the same, but he’s going to raise it to the $30.00- yes, I told my mgr it was a weird request indeed, haha, but my mgr wasn’t surprised when I asked him to do it though, hmmmm- he knows I’m crazy already! :P
Trisha says
@carl, I tried to get my store to do the same thing and they said that it’s “impossible” to raise a price, they can only lower it…So I asked them to call customer service and they told the store the same thing! :(
carl says
You can ask the store manager to ring it up at the $34.99 price that it states on the shelf. Mine did a price adjustment for me, but said that it was the weirdest request that they had ever had :)
Holly G says
Mine didn’t ring up on sale but with my dicount. My RP didn’t have any of the Loreal Q’s but I think when I figured it out I still got the kit and a product for $3-4 after all the upr, scr, & mir. Thanks Shannion! I love getting this stuff to give to my grandmother.
Valerie says
Mine worked out exactly as your scenario with 20% wellness discount and buying one kit and one serum. I didn’t get the $3 coupons in my Red Plum so I couldn’t use them, but I still thought $2.99 (after UPR’s, SCR and MIR) was too good to pass up. I had $52 in UPR’s to use anyway, so it was a good way to roll some of them.
Jess says
Just got back from rite aid, I got the loreal deal, and 2 Johnson items, I’m pretty upset because my ups didn’t print!! None of them! I guess I should call corporate tomorrow and get my 14$ in ups… My loreal also rung in as 29.99 which I’m hoping loreal rebate takes it even if it’s a penny short.
Courtney says
mine also rang up 29.99 and it printed (2) 5 UPR !
gonna call Loreal tomorrow and ask about the MIR ..i really hope they honor it for all of us !
Brittney says
Here’s what I did…
Buy 2 singles at $19.99 each = $40
(2) $5 VVQ from Jan and Feb
(1) $3 ManufQ
(1) $2 ManufQ
Pay $25
Get back…
(2) $5 UPR
(1) $10 Manuf. rebate
(1) $5 RA rebate
Total: $25 – $25 = FREE!
(I hope my calculations are correct!)
Laura says
My rang up on sale, but I still got two $5 UPR’s out of Rite Aid. I hope I get the rebate – I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise – but being a penny short, no doubt L’oreal will NOT give the rebate! That stinks!
Krissy says
@Laura, Yeah you are probably right about them not honoring it being a penny short! I’m afraid they won’t honor mine with all of the coupons I used! Good luck!
Jennifer says
@Laura,
I just checked my receipt since I had my 2 year old with me and didn’t watch items as they rung up. Mine too was $29.99 and I also got 2 $5 UPs from L’Oreal. That makes this a REALLY awesome deal :)
Jennifer says
@Jennifer,
Well except for the L’Oreal rebate part. Oh well. I’ll probably save myself the stamp. Even with this, I came out of Rite Aid having only spent $5 (mostly tax which is nearly 10% here) and more UPs than I walked in with.
Mindy says
I am gonna call that number on the rebate. Everyone make sure your up rewards are printing right. This is the second time they haven’t for me in a row. They shorted me 4 (2 up rewards) I showed the clerk she told me to come back tomorrow, she didn’t know what to do. I am calling cs tomorrow. I am not driving an hour for 8 bucks they can mail it to me. But check your receipts.
Mel says
I didn’t catch mine till I got out to the car, otherwise I would have thrown in the extra item. Oh well. Can’t win them all I guess!
Sheena says
My Kit rang up at $29.99 and I purchased an additional Youth Code single item on sale for $19.99. Use the $3/1 (x2) MQ, the $10 VV for the kit and the $5 VV for single Youth Code item, a $5/25 that was in my wellness email, plus several +up rewards and a $10 SCR check and paid $2.00 OOP, got back (3) $15 +Up rewards for spending over $45 on L’oreal, will get back $5 SCR and the $10 MIR.
ila says
i would like to have 2 coupons for 3 each for loreal youth code in exchange to any kind of coupons from P&G everyday savings coupon book
ila says
hi. i would to have 2 coupons for 3$ each for loreal youth code in exchange to any kind of coupons from P&G everyday saving book
jill says
Yep, mine rang at 29.99 but took me by surprise after I got home as the shelf was marked 34.99.
All in all, it ended up costing my $2 plus tax, I think. I had already used my VV beauty bonus, but I got the two $5 +ups, used the $10 VVRAQ, the $3 manufQ, and should still get the $5 SCR. I”m going to go ahead and give the L’oreal rebate a shot but I bet they disallow because its one penny short. Ugh!
Still a good deal if you need some new face stuff, and even still a money maker if you still have your VV beauty bonus coupon.
BUT, my store only had two on the shelves so good luck finding one after today!
Dizzy Mommy says
My store had none, in fact they had no idea what I was even talking about. This means I will have to travel to my store an hour away later today and hope they still have them. Sad thing is knowing the 2 store I now live by they both have them but never bothered unpacking anything.
Janice says
Mine rang up for the sale price. It was still free for me after coupons, so I will let it go.
Brandi says
Mine rang up on sale for 29.99 as well. My RedPlum also didn’t have the L’Oreal coupons or the Uncle Ben’s coupons (Reading Eagle).
Grace says
Mine was 27.99 w/ 20%off discount. It did ring up 29.99 sale though.
Sandy says
Mine rang up on sale @ $29.99
Bought 2 @ 29.99
Used (2) 10.00 VV
(1) 4.00 VV Wellness
(2) 3.00 Mfg
Got back $15 UPR
$5 SCR
$10 MIR mfg.
So – all in all – Got 2 for free!
Sandy says
@Sandy,
Correction. I received (4) 5.00 UPR Rewards for buying 2 kits @ $29.99
so Made $5 bucks off this deal. Not sure why I got the extra $5 UPR
Krissy says
I price checked it and it came up 29.99 so i put it back until I could find out what FTMs says to do!
Christina says
@Krissy, Same here!! I’m in Portland, OR. Trying to figure out if there’s a deal to buy 1 of the kit and then a single item.
Krissy says
@Christina, Ok went back and bought 2 kits, used 4/20, 2 $10 vv, 2 $3 Mq and $20 ups paid $9.98 oop, got back $20 ups, plus $10 MIB and then I just remembered I’ll get $5 SCR so I made $5 bucks! …I think??
Julie says
@Christina, I bought a kit and serum @ 29.99 and 19.99= 49.98. I used:
(1) $10 and (1) $5 VV
(2) $3 mfc
(1) $3/$15 RA coupon
Paid 25.98
Got back 3 $5 UPRs, getting $10 MIR, and $5 SCR. Thats a $4.02 MM!
Amy says
Mine range up at $27.99 and $19.99 – – I used (2) $3 coupons from the paper today, (1) $10 Rite Aid (1) $5 Rite Aid and also a $4 off 20 and $3 off $15 . . . – so I put out $20 but I got (3) $5 UPR — I’ll get the $5 SCR as well as the $10 manufactors — so great $10 money maker!! Thanks Shannon!
Taryn says
@Amy, Was the $19.99 a sale price, or do you get a 10% or 20% discount? Thanks!
Melissa says
Mine rang up at the sale price but I still got back 2 $5 UPR. I think I am going to take my chances and hope LOreal will still honor the rebate at $29.99.
Donna says
@Melissa,
The same happened to me. I see that there is a phone number on the rebate form which I will call. I’ll offer to put a penny in the envelope :)
Mel says
@Donna,
When you call would you mind posting what you find out? Thanks!!
Krissy says
@Donna, Haha your penny comment made me LOL
Holly says
@Donna, This is what I want to do too! LOL! I figured it’s worth a try to send it in, the only thing they can say is no!
Stephan says
@Melissa, Ja, the same here, 29.99 and printed two 5$ UPR. I will try and see if L’oreal still gives me the 10 bucks
Aileen says
@Stephan, I am also doing the same and hoping I get the rebate for buying 29.99. @Donna, let us know what they say!
Amber says
Mine did not ring up at that sale price. Mine was 31.99 with my 10% discount and I did get back 2 $5 UPR!
Amber says
@Amber, I lied! When I looked at the register window it said 31.99 but I just checked my receipt and it IS 29.99. Gah!!
Alison says
@Amber, mine did the same thing!! I just checked my receipt :( What a bummer. I hope Loreal will still honor the rebate even if we are a penny short.
Sandy says
@Amber,
Frustrating to say the least which is why I opted to by 2 kits to get the $10 MIR. Not sure if L’Oreal will honor the MIR if you are short .01, I chose to be safe than sorry!
