If you really need the item, try to get to the store early or simply price match at Target or Walmart.
Maggie says
I got confused on Sunday and thought the Tylenol precise patches were on sale at cvs. They were on clearance at my cvs in Pa for $4.24 so I got some overage after using the $5 coupon.
Erica says
Did I read the original post correctly- You were able to buy one get one free finesse products and use 2 $1 off Finesse product? Making the $4.29 each product become $4.29 for two products, minus $2 coupons minus $2 mail in rebate making the total for two shampoos- $0.29?
Shannon says
@Erica,
Yes, that is correct.

I do like when stores put their own limits on the HOT items so everyone may have a chance. Its weird though, because I have seen a lady put HOT items in her cart and call her friends and family to the store to split up the transactions (Just like on Extreme Couponing). I guess that’s one way of getting around limits. I’m curious though. Would this still qualify as shelf clearing? Is there a difference if its six strangers vs. six friends or family members?
Whitney says
At one of my three RAs, the manager puts his own limits on things that are free after coupons or ups. Usually handwritten signs on the shelves & registers. I have to say it is helpful for those us of with small babies who can’t get there right when they open. At least we know that one store will have some freebies left. And he orders HUGE amounts of the “hot” items. For example- the desitin & baby wash a few months back was limit 4. Reasonable limits like that :)
Debbie says
I didn’t make it to Rite Aid today due to Mother’s Day activities. I guess I can forget about getting those precise patches/wraps. Sigh…guess I’ll try, but not holding out much hope based on the results above.
Debbie
Shannon says
@Debbie,
My store had limits so you may be able to.
CHI says
Price match at Walmart. Cashier was not happy about being free with the coupon, but my grandmother likes the cream.
I live in N GA. Close to a flea market and every time i go there, there’s like 10 vendors selling products that they got with coupons. Same products i got the week before etc etc.
Even my CVS gets raid, so limits do not always work because even the family dogs have CVS cards (according to a CVS cashier).
It’s pathetic.
becky says
I agree that 38 is a little excessive but we all know if you really want something that’s a freebie you have to be there first thing. What if she buys for her mom or sister? I know I buy for my mom and since my sister is on disability she comes over every month and buys the good shampoo and stuff for a $1 a piece…that way she gets the good stuff for less than she’s pay for the crap stuff. I’m just saying don’t judge someone til you’ve walked in their shoes. I buy extra so I can share with my mom and sisters. My store never has 20 of something like that but who knows maybe her manager ordered them for her.
Tanesha says
WOW! No wonder my Rite Aid Limits 1 Sale item per customer!! I get what I my 1 and head to Wal-Mart and match the rest. They don’t realize they are loosing business but the hoarders don’t need to walk off with everything! Plus those coupons expire 05.14.11. Get what you need there’s no need to be so selfish and take 75 off the shelf.
Sarah says
There were a grand total of FOUR Precise creams, and no wraps at 8:30 this morning at my “secret” Rite Aid. I was appalled when they said one woman came in and bought all their stock (they had four strays behind the counter for some reason).
Nicole says
Who cares what you guys think? She is telling about buying thirty eight because she wants to. We all clear shelves, whether by one or thirty eight. Be creative! Find ways to get what you need. Become friendly with your stores and have them hold items for you. Pre-order if you can. Buy items before the sale starts and return them on sale day and re-buy. Quit complaining! I do not clear shelves myself, but it isnone of my business what others do. She can resell if she wants. After she buys, its her business. Quit making yourselves upset over things you cannot control. Be smart. Think about your family. Heart disease is the number one killer among women. Why cause undue stress due to coupons? So silly!
Jane says
That’s why there are none left on the shelves for others.
Amy says
Went for just one Precise because I actually needed one and they were GONE! Not too happy.
Dizzy Mommy says
I went first thing this morning, my daughter has POS, which causes labor like cramping during Periods. The precise is great for her. They had none left, went to 3 other Rite Aids same thing. My friend who is a store director told me 3 ladies bought them all in her region.
Stopped at a Garage Sale on my way home and Im pretty sure I found them for sale at $3 each. There have been very tough times in recent years were selling coupon ed items for $1 was the only way some of my neighbors could get along. I hate though when there is a garage filled to the brime, and they are asking basic retail prices.
holly says
i agree that clearing shelves is not the way to be a ‘good sportsmen’ with couponing. however, taking the risk here of being the next target of criticism… we dont know why she bought 38 of them. the last 2 weeks i have been buying above and beyond what i normally buy for my family of 4. however, the extra that i have been buying, is all being donated to the tornado victims in the south. i have well over 100 products of things that are heading there as i type. including medicine, baby formula, body washes, ect. lets all try to act mature and not like a group of wolves on the attack. not everyone out there who buys lots of the sale items is doing it for personal benefit.
Michelle says
Did the breathe rite coupon take off $3.99 or $5.99?????????
Grace says
I think it is very ignorant of people to go and buy so many of the same thing and not leave any for anyone else. Fine if you buy the 5 to get the upr but to buy as many as some of you do I can’t blame the mangers for getting grouchy I would be grouchy. Just like the giant deal where people went and bought how many cards and didn’t leave any for anyone else. That’s just ignorant taking advantage of the deals and not allowing anyone else just trying to make it with their family by doing these deals. Wrong if you ask me just like the extreme couponing.
Becca says
I wouldn’t go bragging about the 38 Tylenol Precise on any coupon forum… remember, the show is about ‘extreme’ couponing, not real life couponing. You’re going to get a lot of other couponers angry at you if you clear shelves on the first day, then boast about it.
Kari says
I was looking forward to trying this on my KNEES which have been killing me lately. We will see if the stores in PORTLAND Or. have any : )
Kari says
Your entire ORDER was Greedy and Rude. Just Sayin’
I bet you are selling them at a garage sale… that is what a few people here do.
Rude.
Kari
Kristin L. says
I would guess that people using 40 of the same coupon are ordering the coupons from a coupon clipping service or off ebay or something. I can’t imagine anyone actually goes out and purchases 40 newspapers.
Jean says
Bad enough they clear the shelf then brag about it! Even if you get a raincheck the coupon is only good for the week.
Jazzy says
I hope you left some Precise by Tylenol for others who really need it like myself who’s in constant pain everyday and get a little relief using heat pad.
Jasmine says
Couponing is getting really hard can’t even get to use 2 coupons anymore because some people go and take all the stock, no wonder some store managers are getiing grouchy..How the heck do you ppl get all these newspapers 1.50 *40 =60 thats alot… Oh well what can one do..
Crista says
Hmmm…I wonder why your store was out of Tylenol Precise;) It’s getting hard these days to just be able to get 1 of the items on sale, let alone 38 of them…
Quiana says

Sara says
What do you do with 38 tylenol precise? I went to get one and they were all out….
eliza says
Just curious what you are going to do with 38 precise by Tylenol?
Lori says
I got 5 precise by tylonel today in one purchase for $0, but the Weekend Warrier +UP didn’t print. I’ll have to call them to request it. Customer services at Riteaid is so helpful, but it just takes weeks to get the up in the mail.
kim says
38 Tylenol? I wonder if you can use them before the expiration date.
Natasha says
Did your weekend warrior +UP track?
Shannon says
@Natasha,
No.
Susan Bolanos says
Not so much a scenario but my cousin and I went out and hit two Rite Aids this morning and this is what we got:
38 Precise by Tylenol
19 Carefree Panty liners
2 Stayfree Maxi’s
14 Palmolive Soap
End Cost was about $13.00
How great was that? And Got $5 UPR’s so end cost was $8. Now, I do think in one of our orders, they did make a mistake but I am not gonna complain cause it was to our benefit!!
Thanks so much for all your information.
