Celebrate Veterans Day with a special performance from the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and AROVA Contemporary Ballet. The title is taken from Orville and Wilbur Wright’s first flight on a "heavier than air, man carrying flying machine" on December 17, 1903. Heavier than Air will be a performance that captures the imagination of flight through music and dance. The program combines the uplifting music of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and the daring beauty of AROVA Contemporary Ballet. Performed on Veterans Day, Monday November 11 at 11:30 A. M. and 7 P. M., Heavier than Air is the Southern Museum of Flight’s tribute to man’s exhilarating relationship with flight and honoring those who dare to push beyond their limitations.
