What’s your morning routine secret? Eight O Clock Coffee is helping busy moms and dads with “Back to School Survival Tips”.
Here are a few to get you started.
TIP 1: Become Your Own Brewista – Save time, money and gas this back-to-school season by brewing your morning coffee at home. To wake up to the great smell of Eight O’Clock Coffee, you can set your coffee maker’s timer the night before.
TIP 2: Preplan Lunch – A few days before school starts, sit down with your kids and create a grocery list of healthy snacks and lunches they would like for school. Rotate each of their selections throughout
the week. Make Tuesday “Turkey Tuesday” or Wednesday “Wrap Wednesday” – adding variety to keep lunch exciting. When possible, pack their lunch the night before to reduce stress in the morning.
TIP 3: Assemble Weekly Wardrobes – Every Sunday check the upcoming weekly weather forecast with your kids. Then, have them pick out five outfits for the upcoming school week. Hang them in daily order in their closet to avoid the inevitable, “Mom, I can’t find my favorite blue shirt!”
TIP 4: Be Prepared for School Projects – Avoid late night rushing around to complete school projects by having art supplies on hand. Create an arts and craft bin that includes more than just crayons and
colored paper. Collect items like pipe cleaners, stickers, figurines, beads – even coffee beans – and other creative finds, and put the fun back in school projects.
Five FTM Readers will win an Eight O’Clock Coffee Parent Survival Pack
- Eight O’Clock Coffee
- An Eight O’ Clock Coffee Drawstring Bag
- Travel Mug

Maybe not a tip as much as a story (unless youre insane and crabby like my husband!! Lmao
I am a morning person and wake up everyday with sun shining out of my butt, lol. But my DH is NOT a am person at all and is also borderline OCD (in my opinion). We do everything he needs the night before. Make his lunch and set up his lunch box OPEN on the counter, Set the coffee timer and place travel mug OPEN on the counter with sugar already in it. Lay clothes out and place all necessary hygiene items (razor, shave cream, toothbrush [with paste ALREADY on it!]) out on the bathroom counter. LOL. Is this crazy? YES! But it works for my DH so if you are a trainwreck in the morning, give it a try! :))

Our school-night routine involves choosing next day school outfit down to the shoes and accessories when she chooses her jammies for the night. When she has her bedtime snack we plan on what she is going to have for breakfast the next morning…. of course that’s when her school isn’t closed due to flooding damage… but when she gets relocated to temp room in a temp location and gets to go back this is what we’ll be getting back to. Works well for us.
