hmmm…
I can use one more free tank of gas for the road, and I was dropping off at my local food bank yesterday, and the shelves were bare, people! I mean, scary bare!
I guess I’ll be adding some knorr sides to the ridiculous amount of candy I acquired in last weeks gas deals…

That’s awesome, Heather, whatever we can do to help other is wonderful, the economy is bad and I don’t think it will get better anytime soon.
When I was in school for Social Work, I did my internship at a food bank. I was disappointed on how single men were treated when they asked for assistance. The policy was that we really shouldn’t give them food because they might sell it for alcohol or drugs. The same could be said for women.
What bothered me the most is that the volunteers at the food bank took home most of the donations. Yes, they were needy also but they should take the same amount as everyone else and at the same frequency, they took food home every single day when clients could only come once a month and they were allowed only 2 bags of good. When I brought up the issue, my supervisor told me that they were poor and they helped at the center so it was understood that they had first choice of any donations.
Hopefully, other food banks have stricter policies and the food goes to those who really need including men who might have lost their jobs and don’t have families, they need to eat also.

How many deals of 7 items do you have to buy in order to get the 30 gal of gas? Not really understanding the whole concept. Would be greatful for any help. Thanks
