Consumer Critique: Hally Hair

My daughter loves to dye her hair. We're fortunate, because she has very light blond hair, so we can use just about any color (the only downside is that colors seem to last extra long in her hair, but she doesn't mind). The new year is a great time to try out a new color!

I was happy to try out several hair products from Hally Hair. The first was one of their Shade Stix line. These are great ways to have very short-term hair color. Designed to work on all hair types, these are easy to use - swipe on the color, and use the built-in comb to comb into hair. It's available in five colors - red, pink, blue, orange, and purple. It's a great way to add a little style to a costume, try out a hair color before you commit, display some extra team spirit, and more.

I also got to try the Color Cloud. This one was a very unique experience. I had never used foamy hair color before - and I actually kind of screwed up the first time. I ended up under-mixing because I was so worried about over-mixing, so hardly any color actually stuck to her hair. When we realized that it wasn't sticking, we applied more from the leftovers in the bottle, and that worked better, but there wasn't enough left to get a really solid color. It still worked well, because her hair was light, it just wasn't as dramatic. I would definitely still use it again, though, now that I have a better sense of how to use it. The kit comes with de-stress putty, which my daughter loved to play with while she was waiting for the color to set, and also some under-eye gels.  It's available in blonde, red, purple, brown, rose gold, black, and pale blue.

Hally Hair products are all cruelty-free, made in the USA, vegan, gluten-free, and certified clean. You can buy them online, and get free shipping with any more $35+.
