Yesterday, I posted about the Giant Frozen Food Promotion, Save $25. off a future purchase when you spend $100.00. The promotion says that it is after coupons and discount – however, I have heard from some of you that your totals are calculating before coupons. It looks like it is hit or miss as to what coupons are deducting from the total.
:: Megan reports:
I bought $14 in frozen items and used $4.50 in coupons and was credited $12 towards the promotion.
:: Katie reports:
Even though I used $9 in coupons, my total towards the promotion wasn’t reduced by the full $9. Weird!
Let us know what you are finding…
Don’t forget to check out the cereal promo at Giant and let us know if you have been successful with saving your $10.00 off Bambi Coupon yet?
Loni says
I tried to use the $10 coupon for the Bambi movie & they would not accept it. They said they don’t accept internet coupons for over $5. I went across the street to Target & used it there.

Okay I am not sure exactly how things got totaled but here are my numbers…
Reg Price w/o coupons totaled $39.47
Discounted price w/o coupons $32.48
I used $8.50 in coupons
I got $37 towards my $100
Now, to complicate things more I got a special bread that happens to be in the freezer in the Natural and Organic section. The bread was $4.29, so I am not sure it that is included in the promotion, it is not one of the excluded items listed.
So, I am guessing that they did count my bread in the final numbers and used the discounted price before coupons coming to a total of $36.77.

Deal Idea:
The Celeste Pizza is on sale for $1.00 each
If you buy 7 you get $.20 off a gallon
If you can max out at 30 gallons ($.20 *30 gallons = $6)
7 x $1 = $7 – $6 gas savings = $1 for 7 single serve pizzas!
And it counts towards the $100 for the frozen products.

where is the running total( the amount you have earned so for) it wasn’t on my receipt today do I ahve to go online??
Shannon says
Greg, check the bottom of your receipt, it says Frozen Club. I will be posting my receipt a little later today, so you will be able to see it just in case you cannot find it.
S Morris says
Just got back from Giant, the full amount actually counted.
After discounts but before coupons my total frozen should have been $33 but they gave me credit for $47.
But I must tell you about the great deal on Weight Watchers Smart Ones.
All of them are on sale for $2(That is regular price for some)
If you buy 7 you get $3 off your shopping order
Some had peelies on them for $3 off of 10
So I paid $14 for 10 and the ones I bought were regularly 2/$5
So it counted $25 towards my $100
Really Happy with this deal
Shannon says
@S Morris,
sweet -thats right they are double dip. There are some other coupons as well. Thanks for the update!
Shannon says
should clarify this is for instant savings stores.
Melissa says
Maybe the amount of the manufacturer’s coupon isn’t being deducted, but any amount that giant doubled is being deducted. That kind of makes sense to me since giant will get reimbursed for the amount of the manufacturer’s coupon, but the doubled amount is more of a discount that giant is offering. I think this is similar to the way they calculate the gas points you earn per dollar spent (although that gets more complicated by items like milk that are excluded.) I haven’t been to giant yet to test this theory though.
Shannon says
Melissa, wouldn’t it be the opposite, coupon amount and not the double amount?
Melissa says
@Shannon, That’s what I was trying to say! I guess I goofed it up…need to finish my coffee. I think the manufacturer’s coupon amounts count toward the $100, but any doubling would’t.
