Frugal Christmas: Repurpose floral easels into Christmas trees

My husband made some cool Christmas trees for our front yard decor this season.

I previously

He took it a step further and repurposed floral easels.

We purchased the easels for $5 each (roughly) at a floral wholesaler.  We went for the 66 inch stands.

My husband wrapped an initial layer of one strand of lights, weaving it around the stand and securing the strand with zip ties.

Then he added an additional 3 strands of lights.  No need to zip tie the additional strands, the first strand acts as a support.

The cool thing about the trees -- they're stackable for storage.

One leg is a smidge longer the other two legs, you could trim it or not.  We didn't.

Installation -- You can stand it on the side walk or simply push into the ground, or tether it.

This is not a new idea.  Mega Christmas light display creators have been doing this for a while.
