Frugal Living: 12 alternative uses for baby oil

There are a number of uses for baby oil besides tanning (or cooking your skin).

Baby oil (depending on brand and size) will cost around 85 cents to $2.

Some people use it for cradle cap but I never did.

You do not need a baby to appreciate the many uses of baby oil.

Here are some quick uses for baby oil that you may not have thought about:

1.  Use it to remove latex paint from your hands.

2.  Small drops on necklaces with kinks in the chains will help you undo the knot, especially if you pair it with a straight pin.

3.  Polish chrome appliances or faucets.

4.  If you wear flip-flops or Crocs a lot and your feet get black use it to wash the tar off your feet.

5.  Are your feet cracked from wearing sandals? Use it to moisturize your feet.

6.  Removes make-up (especially mascara and eyeliner)

7.  Mix baby oil and sugar to create an exfoliating scrub (for elbows).

8.  Use a drop or two on Band-aids or bandages to loosen them before you rip them from 'hairy' arms or legs.

9.  If a zipper or mechanical device needs lubing you can use a drop or two.

10.  Use it polish old wood furniture -- Go

11.  Use it soften baseball gloves -- The Art of Manliness (and I did this with my softball glove as a child) suggest using baby oil to soften gloves.  It worked for me.

12.  Doors creaking? Use it instead of WD-40.  Works on squeaky screen door hinges and car door hinges too.
