Today, a Target cashier was frustrated with all my coupons. He hesitated on one coupon and I tried to ask him which coupon is that and he pulled it closer to him saying, “ma’am I have to read it”. Once again, another cashier to call a manager over to question something. The manager said my coupon was fine for my items.
As I left the cashier, a customer behind me made a derogatory comment, and the cashier replied, “No comment”.
I went to CS and asked cashier to price match. She asked, “Are these the items you used coupons for?” (I figured the manager had given her a ‘heads up’). I said, “Excuse me?” She said she would this time but not again since the ad did not list all the candy types. This is the second time that I’ve price matched at Target and they’ve found a reason to complain both times.
I am following the store’s coupon policy. I am so tired of others bursting my bubble and treating me like I am trying to rip them off. Instead of leaving feeling good about saving money, I leave upset.

Even though I really could care less about what people think of me, customers in line behind us are blaming the wrong person, when they blame us.(the couponer). THE STORE EMPLOYEE SHOULD know their coupon policy, and any changes. As a customer, I make a conscious decision to shop in their store. Without us the stores don’t need as many employees, and people lose jobs. The reason we come off as such “witches remove the ‘w’, replace with ‘b’, is because of these inept employees, and having to explain their job to them.
Having to FIGHT for what’s rightfully ours, puts us on the defensive everytime we go in one of these stores. If
stores don’t want to take coupons, then they need to stop. But, they also need to lower the prices to begin with, so that coupon or not, they are competitive. Otherwise, I will continue to coupon, and be THAT lady.
