Can’t find your pantry staple on sale with a coupon? Don’t worry, you can MAKE your own pantry staple – and save money.
It has become harder to find a deals on staples like Taco Seasoning. Do you remember when Old El Paso had a coupon every week? I used to be able to get taco seasoning free atleast once a month. Sure, I can get a deal on it here and there, but homemade is cheaper and healthier! I think this book will help you save money on some of the items you use the most. I am excited that Mandi was willing to share one of her recipes with us!

From Mandi:
This week I’m excited to release my brand new ebook, Easy Homemade: Homemade Pantry Staples for the Busy Modern Family, which is on sale for just $0.99.
There are a lot of reasons you might want to know how to make pantry staples from scratch, and saving money is one of the best. Pantry staples can be expensive, and when you can easily make those same staples at home for a fraction of the cost, it’s worth your time to do so.
Take taco seasoning, for example. This is one of our family’s favorite recipes, because it’s delicious and versatile (use it for tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, chili or even as a seasoning on french fries and popcorn!). And making it at home saves you money and allows you to control the heat:
Homemade Taco Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoon paprika

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a small jar with a tight lid. Shake until thoroughly mixed.

Discover more than 60 recipes for homemade kitchen staples like these in Easy Homemade, which is available for just $0.99 this week only!

I loved the myo buttermilk recipe. Since we moved, I’m going through gallons of buttermilk since it makes stronger batters for baking, and the higher altitude requires stronger batter. I was beginning to despair how much it cost.
Food is much more expensive here. Even with a coupon. Except for regular milk. That’s $2 a gallon.

This is also a great way to be able to control your sodium intake. We started making our own taco seasoning due to my husband’s high blood pressure.

Very true. Same for sugar on recipes!
